All of our problems? What about the horrible recruiting by G-Mac? Or Chizik's awful record as a head coach? Or how D-Mac's stay at ISU will haunt us forever?

Big reason my wife and I have cell phones is because both of our families don't live locally and with long distance included in cell phone packages, well it was a no brainer to go with cell phones. However, with the Qwest bundle package, I saw that unlimited nation wide long distance is included. Wouldn't hurt my feelings one damn bit to get rid of my cell phone, only one who calls me the most on it is my wife :rolleyes5cz:
For those that don't like switching email, a good solution is going with a good, free 3rd party email like Google's GMail. They do a good job of avoiding spam accounts and stuff by making it tricky to sign up for. Either you have to know someone that has it and they have to email you an invite or you go through this mess where they send you a text message on your cell phone that gives you a code to use: https://www.google.com/accounts/SmsMailSignup1
And for those of you that love POP3 email (using Outlook or some other kind of email client that is not web-based) POP3 is free with GMail. I haven't got a bit of spam on this account either. I always use a "junk mail" account like Yahoo! to signup for anything on the internet because that is where a lot of your spam will come from is when you use email to sigh up for things.

I was just about to ask about POP3 mail with Qwest/MSN. Do they allow for this? We have our e-mail accounts setup in Outlook and want to do the same with MSN.
I havent read this yet but I know if you get cable internet you dont have to get cable tv service but mediacom still has to send a cable signal into the house. You can splice into the cable going into your modem and run free basic cable through the entire house. i did this a few years ago and dont know if they have changed anything.

No go (although I didn't push) on any break for losing Fox. However, the following numbers were given
Cable alone = 55.95. Supposedly no fees or tax. All along this call, I was adament that I wanted the number that appears at the bottom of the bill. I don't want to be surprised promo prices, fees, taxes, etc.
Cable + Phone = 55.95 + 39.95(phone taxes and franchise fees).
Cable + Family cable = 45.95 + 16.95 (small tax and franchise fee, maybe $20 total). This would include Connections 22. So for an extra $10, you get the base channels you can't get on Satellite.
If you were to get Cable, Phone and Internet, cable stays at 45.95, Phone goes down to 29.95 and the aforementioned Family cable cost of ~ 20.00.

I've heard this too but I also have a friend that tried this and it backfired on him and now he doesn't get ESPN and some other channels. I think it's only the very basic cable that comes through not the extended basic which is the common package. If you can live without the ESPN's which I doubt anyone here probably could then go for it and see what happens.
You can with MSN I believe. I did it when I first hooked it up but I never used the account and took it off my email configuration.
I called about an hour ago and was told we would get the 20% off if my wife called back to confirm the account. Its under her name and I couldn't remember her soc number.
You may try calling back and telling them you were told you'd get the 20% discount but you had to call back to confirm the account.
After spreading the 20% discount around my office the tally stands at 4-2 of people that were able to get the discount.
The 2 that did not tried hard, but they acted like they'd never heard of it. The rest of us simply asked them about it and got the discount. I would reccomend suggesting that you were looking into DirectTV, that seems to have been something missing from the 2 that didn't get it.
Try to get as local as you can, I'm not sure where all the call centers are located, maybe one is offering it and the other is not ...
This was from a Direct TV installer-I have had Direct for 3 years and he replaced my bad dish Thursday. He stated that 20 people had to be called in for the Des Moines Area to help with installs. He even showed me his last install by a customer that I about died-The main guy at Mediacom.
Let me get this straight, the head guy at Mediacom in Des Moines just got DirectTV? If this is indeed true the media would have a payday with this bit of info. It would be like Hank Hill using charcoal over propane or Bill Gates using Macintosh over Windows!
Just got 20% off the next 4 months, called the 800 number, got it no problem. Nevermind the fact that i couldnt get satellite at my ames apartment if i wanted it.
That's interesting. I get Cable internet and have Dish Network here in LA. Wonder if I can split the signal and get basic cable??????

There is no way you could say the Dish HD DVR is more user friendly than the greatest piece of TV hardware ever invented. The DirecTV Hr10-250. No other HD DVR can come close, I mean come on, IT's a TIVO! All those other dvr's are just knock off wannabees.
You can get naked DSL also. You do not have to have a phone line from qwest to get it. You still have a phone line coming in, but you do not have a number associated with it.
