I thought the same thing. Have you had any problems with your bundle package i.e. Outages or price changes?

Residential or even business cable accounts won't suffer more or less outages with the more you pay. The cable network does not work like that. The tech was just trying to upsell and get a commission.

Nah. It's a little sad, we have the phone service but don't have a landline phone hooked up, like I said we just went with the package because it cut our monthly. There haven't been as many outages recently, it's usually at its worst between seasons when the ground gets really cold for the first time heading into winter or really warm for the first time heading out of winter. It messes with the underground lines and we've often had to have the outdoor line techs out. But even if you don't count that, we've had way more than two outages on the year where we need to have a tech out to check modem. Biggest difference I've noticed is the amount of time I have to wait for a tech to get out here. It used to be similar to what you had to deal with, a week or so. But now they get techs out within a day or two, even had a next day appointment once. I don't know if that's because of the bundle or because I've called them so many times and threatened to leave. I'm sure there are lots of flags on my name/account when I call in.

I have the same issue. Called Mediacom, had a tech come out. He said that I have bad wiring running through the house. The signal coming in is good, but somewhere between there and the modem, it's bad. He said I can have an electrician come out and feed new coax, or I can have Mediacom come out and drill another hole in my outside wall. Great options.
Yeah real great. Hope they are able to fix my problem, I'd hate to have to pay 70 a month for not even 20% of the internet I'm paying for

Mine came out and told me to move my modem from upstairs to the basement. He left and said everything looked good. Lost internet twice within 2 hours of him leaving. Called him and told him that the fix didn't work. He then tried to run a line directly from the modem to the box in the neighbors yard. He wasn't even getting a good signal from that box so he called Mediacom to fix whatever is wrong with that box.

They originally said it was probably the modem. I told them that this was my 4th modem and it's happened to all 4.

He then said it may have something to do with the grounding in the house.

Here is a grand idea....how about first checking the main connection going into the house! I know mediacom thinks they are saving money by contracting these jobs out but how much money have they spent sending out 10 different techs? I'm now on a mission to call them everyday and for every outage.

It's a Lil off topic, but finally switched from a rented modem to an Arris refurbished one I bought on amazon for next to nothing, I immediately got higher up and download speeds. I did tests before and after. I had the modem for months, wish I wouldn't have waited.

I've been having so many issues.

In the last year they've been out at least 10 times. They've replaced the modem, outlets, tons of cables, dropped a new line outside, etc. Last week I bought myself a new modem SB6190 and Google wifi (3). With the google wifi I get excellent coverage throughout the house and I believe my modem numbers look ok. When my internet is up I always get a solid 120-130mbps. The problem is that my internet is going out 4-5 times per day and never comes back without intervention. To resolve the issue I unhook the connection on the back of the router and it always comes right back online.

Can anyone interpret these numbers:

I have same setup. I have issues with mediacom's DNS server. Ill often switch DNS from auto to Google DNS in order to register DNS.

It'd be nice if they had an actual outage map. So I could step away from desk instead of tinkering with it for an hour.

Well they sent out an actual employee yesterday and I think this time it may work for a while. They think they are saving money but I find it hard to believe that sending out 11 flunkies is cheaper than sending out one expert.

I'm having a time with Mediacom also. Three trips later, one amplifier, a new cable to the house, and a new modem later it appears to be okay.

I have a hard time believing that my modem died at the same time that the cable to the house went bad. I don't really believe in coincidences . . .

Thought of switching my sports pack to the kids pack. I was stunned that there wasn't an option on screen to do that, either on their website or on the TV.

Who adds difficulty to taking someone's money (or in this case, breaking even)?
