McDermott (turned down) Ohio State

??? I'm sure ISU and the Big 12 appreciate banking Huggins' NCAA tournament $$$...

That's fine and good. I'm sure many coaches could win there.

Hugs probably isn't going anywhere. He's a West Virginia grad. He has his dream job.

I can't see Huggins even considering the tOSU job.

Not saying its anything more than a rumor than the Fred thing was, but a couple of tweets have suggested he has shown interest. So that's why I threw that out there.

I think MacDerrMutt learned from his Iowa State experience and decided that for him, things don't get much better than a mid-major/minor. Why leave where you are comfortable?

I can think of 24.8 million reasons that he should have . . . (3.1 x 8)

8 years, wow

Smith had to overpay to save face. Once McDermott tunred him down his only moves were to promote from within and take another shot at the big names next spring or overpay for his third or fourth or fifth choice or whatever this guy was.

.....with all the money that OSU can throw around, you'd think they'd be having an easier time.

The "THE" in Ohio State University is a little over-rated when it comes to basketball. It's just not that great a job and the lack of interest shows their money doesn't mean much in the hoops arena.

Stunning. The offer surprised me, and the refusal even more.

Maybe Greg figured out his own strengths and weaknesses and reckoned that long term success at Creighton is better than the "big time" and all the aggravation that comes with it.

Agree to the stunner about OSU offering though, it's not like he has set the world on fire at CU.

3.1 for 8 years for an up and comer. He'll probably make more if he is successful. I'd say that is a pretty good paying head coaching job. Does that rank 4th in the BIG? It might even be 3rd highest in big 10.
