In all honesty I would love to see Wayne Morgan return. Hell of a recruiter and had a pretty good zone defense.

JFC...but will he have us pressing all game? One step closer to the internet not being a thing for me any more. Thanks buddy.

Yeah, I'm sure Wayne has been keeping up with all of his previous recruiting contacts and would hit the ground running.

He WAS a good recruiter, but there's a reason he hasn't had a coaching job since he was canned.

Wayne was a good recruiter because he got his first big time job as the bagman for Jim Boeheim at Syracuse and spent 12 years there handing out the cash under the table to the recruits.

I'm going to be honest, I would have mixed feelings about bringing TJ back. Never met him, but have heard from most accounts that he is a good guy. He also helped build the program when Fred first got here.

On the other side, he left us for what was, at best, a lateral move at Washington. Feel like I haven't heard news of him bringing in any top-caliber talent there (no, Dime doesn't count). Just feel like we could make a bigger "splash" hire. Also, what GeorgesFan posted about not wanting him back concerns me/piques my interest.
If TJ wasn't a splash assistant hire wondering how you may feel now? Is this Leath?

That's right. Still don't see a reason for him to be the leader in the club house. Granted we've had more success than Wash but to move laterally to another asst pos and then back again. Don't see the dots connectingn.
How about now?

Who knows? I do know that Jamie has kept in contact with him and that makes me wonder if he is on the short list once Fred leaves. Maybe Fred is interested in hiring his replacement?
and so the seed of JSB's theory is planted.

I'm guessing if TJ comes back he will know that Fred is wanting to go to the NBA soon and will come back knowing that he'd be the next head coach... just my opinion tho.
I thought JSB was the first to suggest the not so crazy now conspiracy but see several of you did. Good call.
I'll be stunned if it's Otz.
I bet you are really stunned now ;)

TJ was arguably the best recruiting assistant we've had in past 15 years, not close. Guy can recruit and people would be nuts not to want him back. Georges has one year left, deal with it. If we don't get TJ we need to get someone who can coach defense and scout defensively well along with being a solid recruiter.
This one was the most ironic considering your recent posts.

Funny how we were all in such a different place 2 months ago.....

There has been a full blown assault to attempt to sway feelings from two months ago, and bringing in an underwhelming slate of candidates has pushed it along. Leath's involvement could also just be a smokescreen to make it look like there has been an earnest search. None of us will ever know at this point.
