Matt Abdelmassih's Quotes

The thing that surprised me this year was that they took off from the opening bell. The previous few years we've had adjustment periods to start the season.

Hopefully that means that Fred is getting even better at finding that chemistry.

I think it was a product of 3 things

1. Ejim and Niang are rocks of the program
2. Kane was ridiculously good
3. Naz Long started the season (Mich and Iowa) shooting 50% from 3.

I think it was actually a recruit that sat in on a practice during a visit that said Nader was the best player on the team this year. Or it might have been a current player. Something like that.

That's where I remember seeing it first.

If we're thinking of the same thing, it was McKay, at some point after he committed to ISU. The question IIRC was 'Who is the hardest worker or has impressed you the most?' and he answered Nader. So it could have been to the hardest worker OR the impressed the most part of the question.

A couple posters have been repeated the 'Nader is the best player on the team' mantra since last summer. I don't know whether he is or not but that seems to be where it's all coming from as far as I can tell.

Correct. I think it was most impressed.

I tend to believe with out strong track record of immense success with transfer, immediate and otherwise, there have been some players that have already reached out to us asking if we'd be interested. I see us taking at least one immediate transfer and probably one that sits. Maybe more if we lose someone.

So was Royce. I think Hoiberg will take best talent available and make it work. Could Nader slide to the 2? Who knows.

Realize CFH doesn't necessarily go by postions 1-5, but can you play the '2' and still guard the '2'? Is Nader a guy that can guard another team's quick off-guard. But I don't know his defensive abilities. That has to be considered, not just offense. I still think that's why SDW has had limited opportunity because its about the defensive end, too. Hope he can make progress for next year.

If we can play our starting 5 against Embid we can shift Nader to the "2".
