Deadpool v Wolverine was awesome!

Having said that, it doesn't do anything to move to the MCU forward in any way shape or form. Its more or less a love letter to the Fox Universe characters.
Yep and that’s what I liked. People have clamored for not having to have every movie connected to each other that I enjoyed the way they did this.

The only caveat would be it COULD move the MCU forward only if Feige and company listen to all the barbs, jokes, etc. that Marvel and Disney themselves put in there. Get the MCU back on track. But only time will tell.

Really enjoyed the movie! If I was going to have one thing they could have done better is make the story a little less messy. They tried to cram way too much into a 2 hour movie. Felt like it flew by because they had so much packed in

I’d argue the x-men collection of films is overall better quality than mcu now. Talking % that is good, obviously mcu has way more content. You really only have to skip the objectively bad X3, maybe new mutants if that even counts. Adding in 90s animated and x-men 97 makes it even better.

Huh? Is this a joke?
Seems real. I mean, Dr. Doom does wear a mask because his face is disfigured, so they could just get away with it that way. Or they could do some multi-verse fuckery and say Tony Stark becomes Dr. Doom in an alternate universe.

winter soldier takes out Howard stark about 20 years earlier than in the main mcu universe, takes the baby and hydra gives it to one of their own?

I mean…. You’ve also got apocalypse and the last few x men movies. I dunno dude

I think he'd be a good Dr Doom but since he already has such an iconic role I think bringing him back into the MCU is just going to feel weird. Kind of feels like they're going back to the multiverse well a little too much

I think those have become the same as the median mcu movie/streaming content now. They weren’t five years ago but they are now.

The best four xmen movies, Logan and the Deadpool movies are as good as S tier mcu. The original X-Men movie is like the Rosetta Stone of the genre.

The original X-Men is the foundation but man it’s dated now. Tried watching it when it hit Disney+ but couldn’t do it.

Was just going to say this. Glad for what it did but the original X-Men movie is a really hard watch. It’s super dated and honestly insanely boring upon rewatch. I love Days of Future Past from the newer X-Men movies, as well as X2 and Logan of course. But Age of Apocalypse is absolute garbage all the way around. What they did with Apocalypse is unforgivable despite how great Oscar Isaacs is. He tried with what they gave him but what they gave him…woof

Respectfully, I can’t imagine anyone legitimately making this argument. X2 and DOFP are the only X-men films that fit “quality” wise with films like Wakanda Forver (fantastic), GOTG3 (fantastic), MOM (criminally underrated - loved it, with elite acting), Loki (both seasons absolutely awesome - well written and completely unique), and FATWS (really solid overall). And the latest Deadpool is great.

Not sure what this means. The original X-Men movie was fun because it was the first legit Marvel live action movie featuring that group. It’s not some crazy great movie. Fun, and a really nice 1st effort, but was thankfully overshadowed by X2. X3 was so disappointing. The Wolverine solo films were largely disappointing (outside of Jackman). The last X-Men movie was just flat out bad.

I said the same thing leaving the theater. I would have paid another $10 to watch just the opening sequence.
I’ve seen it in theaters twice. You can find the opening sequence on Twitter. I’ve watched it several times. It’s so great.

The final fight scene(s) and ending scenes with the music - a proper summer blockbuster sequence. Loved it! Even better the second time.

Did it all make perfect sense? Nah. And it didn’t need to.

Yeah we just disagree. I think First Class is easily better than half the MCU movies and MCU fans typically act like its's some horrible movie.

Counting Deadpool & Wolverine I really love 8 X-Men movies (Xmen, X2, 1st Class, DoFP, Logan, Deadpool x3) and I really love about 9 MCU movies total (GotG x3, Iron Man, Infinity War, Spidey x3, Ragnarok)...then it's who has more low quality dead weight which MCU has been piling up a lot lately. I thought Black Panther was just OK and Wakanda was bad. I think Loki is unwatchable, unless it gets wildly better after four episodes when I quit. The 90s Fox X-Men series was way better than the MCU streaming stuff even before they rebooted it.

I think it's hilarious people think Avengers/Age of Ultron are better movies than X-Men or X2.

I think a lot of it born out of the third X-Men movie being just utter trash where MCU slowly built with more consistency. The fact that more people watched a leaked advanced copy of Wolverine without special effects than watched it in theaters didn't help, it's also just a so-so movie with the weird retconned Deadpool.

I have a closet full of Marvel comic long boxes, I have absolutely no bias towards MCU over the other Marvel movies. I do have some bias of liking Marvel more than DC. I have a bunch of old Morbius comics but I'm not pretending that was good.
