I almost fell into the spoiler trap, but Twitter hid actual posts down the page and I got out before I started to scroll.
Gah! I clicked on my news feed on Facebook, and there was a spoiler right there in one article title. Guess I’ll be forced to watch it early.

(Forced, I tell you!)

I absolutely loved every bit of this. I thoroughly enjoyed WandaVision and TFAWS, but this show was easily better than either of those shows. And introducing
Kang
in this way is brilliant, IMO. The performance was outstanding on its own, and left me dying for more from this character (which I'm completely unfamiliar with, as I've never been a comics reader).

I am a comics reader but literally know nothing about the Avengers/Cosmic stuff. I was X-Men and Spider-Man all the way. So it's kind of hitting in every way for me - it's pumping that nostalgia but I actually don't know what's going to happen.

I had high hopes of where this TV show would go but after incorrectly guessing at Wandavision’s endgame I think a lot of people were avoiding making grandiose predictions.

Now that it’s happened, I couldn’t be happier about how they presented the twist into Phase 4’s multiverse shenanigans. I clearly did not expect…

a somewhat benevolent Kang the Conqueror/Immortus. It’s crazy that he was basically responsible for the MCU as we know it up to this point. It makes me wonder if we’ll ever get back to a “sacred timeline” or if this is basically it for the non-multiverse MCU as we know it.

Also, this gives new meaning to Tony’s line from Endgame… “when you mess with time, time tends to mess back.” The events of Endgame were always supposed to happen except for when Loki unknowingly interferes with those plans, leading directly to Immortus’ death, ripping the multiverse wide open again.

Love it. Rick and Morty beat the MCU to a lot of these ideas, which is pretty hilarious

The idea that the end of time is also the beginning of time and it’s all a loop is awesome

I'm of two minds on the Loki series finale. I'm disappointed that they didn't payoff the character arcs for Loki, Sylvie, and Mobius. In many ways their arcs climaxed in episode 5 and regressed in 6 (one character literally). The best way to describe "Always. For All Time" is a 40 min mid-credit scene to set up the next season of Loki and the MCU in general.

BUT! As a way to introduce the villain for season 2 and beyond, I couldn't be more excited. Much more excited then I first was seeing Thanos at the end of Avengers. This character actor just chewed through the dialog and monologue with their performance. I cannot wait to see them for years to come as THE Marvel villain.

Further expounding my complaints. I worried that the only way they would have been able to pay off the character arcs of Loki and Sylvie would have been to have another Loki rule at the end of time. After episode 5 it would have been a bit overplayed but fitting with the themes we've encountered. Instead, episode's end: Mobius and the TVA are literally reset, Sylvie is still alone (if not dead), and Loki is in limbo.

Ultimately I'm happy we get Kang instead. Jonathan Majors' performance should get him an Emmy for how captivating he made a villain's monologue. The end of time was also beautifully done: from the Kintsugi citadel to the timeline fracturing into a fractal pattern.

I literally don't know what you're getting at here. For the record I don't really care if other people like it or not. I think this was the first of these Marvel shows that was actually a TV show. The others weren't really that.

The Loki finale definitely stuck the landing, but I think I'm in the minority where WandaVision is still my favorite of the 3 Disney+ series. I really dug the first 3 episodes of WV and I think it had the best balance of TV/Cinematic crossover. As the series went on the writing started losing steam but I think it was consistently better than the other series.

Loki is a palette cleanser for Marvel. The series was more focused on dialogue/character development, rather than large action set-pieces, which makes sense for a character like Loki. I thought the costuming, set design and casting were absolutely perfect; I felt like I was watching a Wes Anderson movie at times - and maybe that's what brought me out of the series. Loki was more similar to Game of Thrones than to an MCU entry, and maybe that's on me for not expecting that style. I still really enjoyed the series and will look forward to Season 2.

My Phase 4 rankings after the Loki finale:
1. Black Widow
2. WandaVision
3. Loki
4. Spider-Man: Far From Home
5. Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Sorry. Just trying to be funny by making fun of myself. I was probably the biggest Loki hater on this board and Feige stuck the landing in such a way with the last episode where it even won me over. Props. :)

Great final episode.

Loved Jonathan Majors in Lovecraft Country and loved his performance last night. Last night's episode basically setup the entire MCU going forward with Kang as the next big bad and the multiverse is now a thing. I am still a little hesitant on multiverse stuff but MCU has yet to let me down so let's do it.

That's who that was? I'm not a comic nerd (no disrespect comic nerds, you're valid!!) so I was lost. I just thought that
he was a really entertaining guy
. I loved the finale, even if I was highly confused through most of it. Was a big fan of the chemistry between Loki and Sylvie throughout the series.

I agree it was great. When I made my divisive comment earlier, I thought that some people would have a stronger reaction to Loki being put back in the timeline and everyone around him being essentially reset. Mobius and the Hunters will have to learn again all the stuff they learned this season.

I was listening to a podcast and they put it the best for me when they said this is when Phase 4 actually starts. Falcon and WV both were looking back and dealing with the Snap. That's a cataclysmic event so it's good they deal with it, but this really kicked off what we're going to be dealing with this Phase. I've never seen Majors before and he just jumped off the screen. I loved the rest of the casting. You have to think Hiddleston is going to actually remain pretty involved - I'd kind of been thinking they were going to kill him but now I think Loki and Dr. Strange will be absolutely essential to dealing with Kang.

Yeah, that's who it was but they basically killed probably the most benevolent version of him. Never actually said his name which I think is smart because he'll be reintroduced as the villain I'm sure in Ant Man. I was also dead wrong because I never thought we'd see him in this series.

As a guy who had trouble with the Phase 3 MCU keeping track of what all the Infinity Stones were about, I'm guessing when it comes to Phase 4 I'm going to have a bad time.

I was listening to a podcast today discussing Loki where they had many of the same likes and frustrations as me with the series so far, but they also brought up a good point. More so than any of the other MCU series so far, Loki's success or not REALLY hinges on this upcoming finale. I can't say the same for the other two series as much. Whether you are liking Loki so far or not, everyone inevitably has the question of "what is the point of all this????", which has yet to be answered. If they answer that question well in the upcoming finale, I think it could at least satisfy most of us somewhat naysayers enough to keep us pretty tame. However, if they don't answer it well enough, they could be at risk of frustrating everyone, even the big fans of the series thus far. I guess we will find out soon enough.

I was looking back at what I said right prior to Loki's finale on the importance of this particular finale and I still find my comments to be very true. However, despite the tall task, somehow the show stuck the landing even for me. Props to the writers, as I truly believe, based on what they revealed, that if they didn't stick the landing well, it would have greatly impacted negatively a lot to follow. A lot hinged on that reveal.

With all that said and with how much I liked the finale, I'll admit I'm still not completely unconcerned moving forward. Lets call a spade a spade that the MCU is really starting to get out there with where it is going. We are getting into some pretty intense sci-fi stuff now, not counting the growing need to follow intently along with nearly everything to even keep up. That need will only grow the further we get into this thing, especially with how deep we are getting into the weeds. I get that it is very much following the comics for direction, but I've truly believed all along that a BIG reason why the MCU has been so successful has been its ability all along to draw in and keep BOTH the comic nerd fans and the general movie going audience. Those are two many times very different audiences. I have zero doubt everything the MCU is doing right now will keep all us nerds happy moving forward, but the further and further we get out there with stuff, the more you risk losing that general movie going audience. They are a very key cog needed to keep this big truck moving forward and ultimately the difference between a movie making $200,000 at the box office or $1,000,000 at the box office. Don't get me wrong, Feige has proven time and time again how much he is able to stretch that believability and verisimilitude threshold with all audiences to the max in the past without losing them. But make no mistake, it's a thin tight rope to constantly walk. Only time will tell if Feige can continue to do it, but if anyone can, it would be him.

Couldn't agree more as a guy who is absolutely not into the cosmic Marvel stuff at all. If they get way too far out there in the time travel stuff and multiverses and everything it's going to get wayyyyy to 12 Monkeys I am afraid. And this is coming from a guy who loves time travel and multiverses and stuff - Netflix's "Dark"? I'm in. "Lost"? I'm in. But I think it's a tall order to get a casual moviegoer to buy in to this whole hog over the course of years.

Thanos, for as powerful as he was, was a tangible guy. He's just super strong and when augment with the stones was even stronger. But you could still punch him.

Kang is like a different villain altogether. You can't punch him. You need to outsmart him. It's a completely different battle this time.
