I completely disagree on several of those. I put this movie clearly behind the Thor movies, the iron man’s, ant man’s, etc. incredible Hulk I have no opinion on, I haven’t seen it in nearly 20 years.

Ultimately I am happy to let people make their comparisons and IMO this movie just isn’t worth arguing about. I’ll never watch it again and it’s bottom tier MCU and even people who enjoyed it probably won’t disagree.

It’ll be interesting to compare to buzz for Superman this summer. I think at least in the US that might be the movie that forecasts if these comics movies keep rolling or stall out.

I think Superman, FF and even Thunderbolts will do quite well.

Will they be good? Well I dunno.

I saw the new "Captain America" last night and found it good, but not great.

I think someone mentioned it earlier, but I think Marvel/Disney is making a big mistake by trying to tie in all of the Disney + stuff into crucial plot lines in their movies. It seems like they are operating under an assumption that everyone who pays money to see their movies in theaters are also subscribers to their streaming service. That simply is not the case. My friend who I saw it with does not get Disney +, so he had no idea who Isiah Bradley was supposed to be. I also have to wonder whey the big Bad Guy ended up being a minor character from a movie released back in 2008 or so. Do they honestly expect the audience to remember who this guy was? Just some unforced errors (kind of like our turnovers yesterday) that held the movie back.

That's what I thought leaving the theatre, good not great. I like Mackie, think he does a good job. Thought the choice to go with so many antagonists really hurt the overall storyline, especially when 2 of them are very old men who are past their action movie days by a couple decades, and the 3rd one is a guy who is just really smart, that IMO they really never demonstrated well.

I was your friend too. I think I watched 1 or 2 episodes of the D+ series so I know almost nothing from it and while watching the movie it felt like I was missing out on quite a bit of context.

I was not excited for a Thunderbolts movie being made, but then I was a trailer and thought, hey this kind of looks pretty good.

It looks actually funny, which I have been begging Marvel to get back to.

Finally saw Captain America: Brave New World last night and unfortunately all I can say is WHOOF.... that was bad. Talk about a bummer, as pretty much all my fears of the movie came to fruition, resulting in my least favorite MCU movie to date, and maybe by a wide margin. To me, it all just came down to a terrible script, combined with awful directing, mixed in with terrible dialogue, and lastly, a troubled production process. I could absolutely tell this movie was reshot and edited to hell. There was ADR (automated dialogue replacement) going on everywhere with edited dialogue being thrown in while you can't see the main character talking. Some of it even sounded completely different than the rest of the dialogue, which is a dead giveaway.

While I have always loved Anthony Mackie's Falcon character, I've been just begging for the storytellers to give me a reason to buy an unenhanced new Captain America with wings, and they just haven't done it. It isn't Anthony Mackie's fault either, but rather the writers of both this movie and the Captain America and the Winter Soldier series. Falcon's greatest attribute in the MCU has been his compassion and empathy, which I've been waiting to be showcased in both the movie and the series. Unfortunately, it just hasn't been showcased super well due to poor writing and a lack of direction in both. I mean, I couldn't even tell what this movie wanted to be? It seems to me like they wrote 4 different scripts with 4 different directions and ended up with a hodgepodge of all of them. No wonder the movie kept getting delayed.

Lets also talk about the complete waste of what I thought could be some really good villains in both Samuel Sterns and Giancarlo Esposito's Sidewinder character. Both were so squandered, especially Sidewinder. I mean, how did we seriously waste the acting talent that is Esposito on a throwaway character like Sidewinder? SMH.....

Anyway, those are just my thoughts and everyone is free to disagree with them as much as you want. I had a lot of well-documented problems with the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, but at least it did have its moments of some really good parts to it. This movie for me didn't really have anything redeemable. You guys know me enough now too to likely expect me to come in here critical of a lot of the CGI to this movie, which the movie was actually pretty bad, but I just don't even care to note it. The CGI was the least of this movie's problems.

Anyway, regardless of how bad this movie turned out to be, I still choose to be optimistic going forward. I do believe Kevin Feige has made some much needed background changes to right the ship and we've just had to be patient to get through the crap to finally come upon the good again. I think this might be the last of the crap. Based on previews of upcoming movies/shows and what I've seen from Daredevil reviews so far, I truly believe they are on the cusp of turning the corner, at least I hope so. Onward and upwards!!!

Watched the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again last night and found it to be pretty darn good and has me already hooked on the series. Definitely feels like a continuation of the Netflix series. Also, finally finished Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series and found it overall to be a pretty good series. It exceeded my expectations by the end. The writing, voice acting, and animation was all quite good. It always helps too when the intro song is a really rad hybrid of the old Spider-Man song from way back when with a new flair. I get into the intro every time, which happens rarely for me anymore. Makes me feel like a kid again.

In overall liked it as well. Don’t love the animation style but it doesn’t distract from my enjoyment.

Loved the first couple of episodes of Daredevil. I always thought the weakest parts of the original series was all the Murdock/Nelson/Page stuff so the move away from it is very refreshing to me. Fight scenes are still appropriately brutal.

Daredevil: Born Again is off to a great start. The camera work is interesting, it stands out. In the first episode, the bar fight is one long shot with the camera pulling to the back of the bar, back out to the street, and then back to the rear of the bar again. There were several other interesting shots of characters against the new york skyline as well. Good production.
