I know almost nothing about Shang Chi but you can really tell how deep Marvel has their claws in me at this point because I'm in. I don't even need to know anything about the movie or character.

He had some good stories back in the70s and 80s. One of Marvel's answers to Bruce Lee and the martial arts phenomenon of the 70s, Iron Fist being the other major one.

Shang-Chi looks awesome! I have no background on the character but looks great.

Falcon and Winter Soldier have a lot to wrap up this week.

I'll be the first to admit this Shang Chi trailer ended up being quite different to what I expected, but I'm digging it. I was already a big Simu Liu fan prior to him being cast as Shang Chi, and after watching this, I'm even more on board. This film looks quite fun and different to anything we've seen in the MCU thus far, and that is a good thing. Shoot, I thought it felt more like a Mortal Kombat trailer than a Shang Chi one. I love that about it.

I wonder how this will tie into the Ten Rings terrorist organization from the Iron Man films?
Apparently some connections were built in this short outtake.

I hope people don't take this the wrong way either, but like with Black Panther when the MCU does a film with a primarily black cast or now a primarily asian cast, it seems like they get just a TON of fantastic actors to be in the roles. Don't know anything about Simu Liu, but Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh, Ronny Chieng are all really good. It might make Simu Liu a huge star. And it might give us somebody like Winston Duke in Black Panther that I don't know anything about but who seems like he is a fantastic actor. I'm all of a sudden very hopeful about this.

Casting Tony Leung is huge. I've posted this numerous times, but Infernal Affairs is one of my favorite international films. Infernal Affairs is the film that The Departed is based on, and Tony Leung plays the Leonardo DiCaprio role. I would strongly recommend you check that movie out.

I get that it is a chick flick, but I don't give a rip, so I'll just say it. Crazy Rich Asians has easily been one of my top favorite movies of the past 10 years, and Awkwafina was so fun in that movie in particular. Therefore, I'm stoked she is in this movie too, and she isn't alone in crossing over from that cast to this one, as both Yeoh and Chieng are making the movie as well.

FYI... Crazy Rich Asians was also the movie to make me fall in love with Gemma Chan as well, quickly vaulting her up my list for most beautiful women on the planet. Chan already appeared in Captain Marvel as the green-skin colored Minn-Erva, who perished in that movie, but she has also been cast in the upcoming Eternals movie as Sersei, which will be a much bigger role. Yeah, that Crazy Rich Asians cast was completely stacked with talent.

Emilia Clarke is officially joining the MCU in an undisclosed role

Academy-Award winner Olivia Coleman is also set to join the cast

I can only guess that they will be playing Skrulls alongside Ben Mendelsohn, since he set the precedent for the Skrull accent in Captain Marvel.

Sony & Disney have reached an agreement to allow Spider-Man and other Sony films to stream on Disney+.

Sony and Disney announced on Wednesday that Disney had landed the US streaming and TV rights to new Sony theatrical releases beginning in 2022 until 2026.

The deal means that Disney will be able to stream new Sony theatrical releases on Disney Plus and Hulu, and air them on its linear networks like ABC and FX, but only after the movies complete their theatrical, home-entertainment, and Netflix runs.

The agreement also gives Disney the rights to Sony library titles that include franchises like "Spider-Man," "Jumanji," and "Hotel Transylvania."
