The only thing worse than Gary Grimes wooden, understated acting in this new series is the insufferable Logan Marshal-Green and his weak as water melodrama each week that does nothing to further the plot. I get so tired of his stoic suffering and grating personality as the boss of this elite unit. Oh, and speaking of inability to act, let's hear it for Tatanka Means and his quiet introspection that can become explosive over-reacting at the drop of a hat. Convince me I'm wrong.

More Ash Santos and whoever the blonde chick is (the one who's dad is buying Casey's land).

That's the only reason I am still watching it

I watch it because options are limited, but the acting is definitely not the best. Very forced.

I’ve never understood any interest in any of the Yellowstone universe shows. Easily the worst writing I’ve seen in tv shows recently.

Did people watch a CBS drama and expect anything but horrible soap opera-level acting?

Anytime I’ve accidentally been exposed to pretty much any of those serious shows on cbs and the acting and writing are amazingly horrible.

I think there is 1 more episode left of this season. I'll watch that and probably won't return for season 2. The story line is "out there" and like many have said some of the acting in this is pretty brutal.

This guy annoys me the most though:

I turned this off in the middle of episode 2.

Is dutton ranch out yet? If so, any thoughts on it?

It's really a tossup for me about who is the most annoying. This guy barely edged out your guy for me. And have they ever explained why this guy keeps calling Casey Dutton "Cayo?" I mean, it's just plain annoying.

I always just assumed it was a nickname from the SEALs. We watched about half of S1 and might finish it if we run out of other shows to watch on the DVR. I doubt we’ll watch S2- the storytelling and acting is just, well bad. It was promising at one point, but it’s gone downhill.

I gave up on the original "Yellowstone" towards the end of Season 4 when Kayce (?) decided to spend a weekend, maybe four days, doing some sort of Native American ritual, getting stoned out of his gourd. Keep in mind that he was the acting Agriculture Commissioner of Montana or some title like that while he was doing this.

I had thought about watching this at some point in the back of my mind, but I'm glad I stumbled on this thread so that I don't end up wasting my time.

That being written, I did enjoy the "1883" and "1923" spin-offs though.

pparently this is why- Kayce Dutton (played by
Luke Grimes
) is referred to as "Kyle" or by the nickname "Coyo" (Coyote) by his new US Marshals team because it is a common practice for Navy SEALs to use aliases or call signs during operations to ensure security.Apr 26, 2026

That makes it even more annoying.

Marshalls is terrible. The team leader might be the worst actor on network television, followed closely by the Native American. It's crazy that Riley Green (the country singer, not the Tigers' baseball player) markedly improved the acting on that show. But I watch, partly because I hope it gets better and partly because I'm fascinated that Sheridan attached his name to it. I think he has produced a remarkable amount of fine TV and cinema. Marshalls is not that. Even the eye candy on the show is unbelievably annoying, delivering dialogue that Arnold Scwarzenegger would be embarrassed to deliver.

Dutton Ranch is good so far. Still a little bit hard to get passed the fact that what was the fastest moving grass fire in the history of planet Earth ruined two born and bred Montanans and forced them to move down to the Rio Grande valley. Fires like that are like hurricanes to folks in Louisiana...you learn to live and deal with it.

As others have said, if you haven't watched The Madison yet, it is fantastic. World class cinematography and acting by Russell and Pfeiffer. It has its share of annoying as hell eye candy, but what Sheridan show doesn't.

There really isn't a good actor in this series. And the plots travel all over the place. At one point, I looked at my wife and said, "Well, at least the dialogue is terrible."

We'll likely hate-watch the rest of it because we're already this far into it, but there's no way they are getting me into another season.
