I'll bet $100 to anyone's $20 that we won't win the Big 12 next year.
He was an absolute monster in the tournament year before last.
Next season will give Shayok a shot to get in the good graces of Iowa State fans. It was a shot by Shayok that drew a controversial fourth foul call on Georges Niang during the second half of Iowa State’s loss in the Sweet 16. Niang went to the bench and Virginia’s lead blossomed into a bigger advantage. Shayok remembered the disgust of Iowa State fans. He maintains it was a foul on Niang.
“I don’t airball for no reason,” Shayok said. “I thought he got me on the wrist a little bit. The other fouls they called on him were debatable, but that one was definitely a foul, I think.”

I've heard from multiple people he'd be the best player on the team if he could play this year
What's everyone's thoughts on Long and Talley next year?
I don't see any talk of them getting minutes next year, maybe prime transfer candidates?
Are any of those people affiliated with the team in any way? Are they stating their personal opinion, or what seems to be a consensus among those in the know?
I had to look back to double check, but Clyburn was really the last impact Small Forward we've had at ISU. The elder Babb might count, but he was more of a long SG. Anyone else that has been 6'6-6'7 has been a stretch 4. We've done a lot with multiple 6'4ish 2 guards, but Shayok should really add that length that we've been missing since the elder Babb was here.
People affiliated with the team that would know have said that
Holy Kool-Aid thread.
At least from my (amateur) view, Griffin's body looks more ready for DI, at the moment; he's a strapping young man. Conditt still looks really thin and I wonder if that will hurt his chances at PT (I haven't seen him shoot much but am glad to read that he's able to shoot).Tally will likely compete w/ Griffin & Conditt for the second big off the bench spot. His biggest hurdle is both those guys can shoot.
Long has a lot of really good players to compete for minutes with and Shayok is the only one we know will run out of eligibility before him.
Time will tell.
