Always nice to learn from more experienced runners, I've learned a ton from better runners. This was the first year I've tracked my training based on heart rate opposed to time. I used pace as the constant and HR as the variable - so much more enjoyable than the last 10 years where I just tried to beat my previous pace every single run. I'm not a "good" runner by any means but this was the biggest change for me.
I was showing a veteran runner my running app stats and she was shocked my average HR for previous years was always in the 180+ range. So thankful for that direction
I've found the most accurate predictor on my running capabilities and general cardio health is my VO2max. Fun to track.
