I think both are great. I like that Josh Allen is a better runner, but Mahomes is the better thrower. I am a Chiefs fan so may be a bit biased but I think I would take Mahomes. Mahomes had to put up huge numbers because their defense was not good and still had wins. I would also argue that Mahomes could be even better if his offensive line would be as good as Buffalo's is. I will be curious how Buffalo looks in a year or two when they won't be able to pay everyone. The salary cap changed the dimension of the Chiefs this year and may change the Bills next year.

Went Allen. His ceiling of Super Bowl wins is higher even though he’s behind in that category right now. KC is obviously on the downslope of their run. They are going to have to re-tool again soon.
KC has retooled… and with a retooled roster with 10 rookies, they lost a nailbiter to Buffalo at their peak. In a game with several defensive starters out, and a group of DBs so thin they had a player making his NFL debut on Buffalos winning drive, lined up next to two other late round rookies.

This is KCs rebuilding year.

Also Keep in mind that KC still has the #1 scoring offense currently (and that is with Tyreek gone). If they are ever able to role out a top 5 defense (hell, I'll take Top 10), watch out.

I voted Allen. His upside can't even be charted. Only thing to kind of worry about would be longevity. He is much more prone to running with the football than Mahomes is. All it would take is one big hit to kind of f*** his future up.

I took coach into consideration as well. Andy Reid probably won't be around a whole lot longer. What happens to Chiefs Kingdom once he sails into the sunset? Aaron Rogers has had issues with coaching changes during his career. The Packers have normally been competitive still, but hiring and firing coaches has not had a positive impact on his career IMO.

You really can't go wrong with either...their ability to extend plays and score quickly when needed it superb. I'd probably still take Mahomes just from a raw talent stand point but they're very close

Unless health issues arise, I think Reid will be here for the majority of Mahomes career. He lives and breaths football. Can’t see him hanging it up until he has to.

And he knows what he has in his QB...Reid isn't giving that skillset to another coach. If healthy, Reid will retire when Mahomes hangs it up!

What? When the hell has Mahomes had really good RBs? Chiefs running backs have been below average.
I'll concede this one. I thought Hunt and CEH were a little better than they evidently were. RB is a wash. I do think Cook could be the best of all of them in time.

Their I win 13 games every year coach sure looked like a hurt dog Sunday.

I would just add for context - KC has the highest scoring offense this year… with below avg WR and RB groups, two not so good OTs (average maybe) , and one excellent TE.

I don’t buy any narrative that credits Mahomes success to the pieces around him. This season just reinforces it. He’s the difference maker and the engine that drives this offense. Credit to Reid as well.

It's 1/2 point difference. Bill are better in advanced stats. It's close enough we can call those two pretty much just as successful. Schedules aren't really a whole lot different.

Are the WRs below average? The Bills core now is better, no argument from me there, but I think I'd peg the KC receivers at almost exactly average. People are just used to seeing two elite inside receiving threats open up everything for everyone else because they command so much attention. I think right now each guy has an elite receiving threat, a good second option (JSS and Davis) but after that I think it's just some okay players. I'm a bit surprised Moore and Hardman aren't more than they are at this point and I think KC probably is as well. I thought Isaiah McKenzie would be more productive too.

All the stat comparisons don't matter much to me except this year and maybe last. While PH has done more, if I'm starting now I'm taking Allen. It could easily go either way but it seems Allen is still ascending and I think could be built for a longer run.

I would not complain if either were on my team.

As Allen gets older I could see him playing more like Big Ben, where he's just impossible to sack because he's so big, but isn't really much of a running threat.

Allen reminds me of Big Ben with the ability to be a moose on the loose. Ben took a beating standing in the pocket so the health risk to Allen running may be overstated. Mahomes actually runs around just as much except he isn’t diving head first or jumping over tacklers. Andy got smart and QB sneaks with TE’s after he came close to losing his meal ticket btw. I shake my head when I think of when Mahomes was a Senior & ISU won 66-10. Jacob Park was 14/18 threw 2 TDs, Lanning had 5 rushing TDs, Lazard had a big day @ TD, Butler was not dropping balls that day. The defense was all over PM. Obviously PM is a different QB today. So, if I was a GM I’d take Allen. The health risk is a wash to me. Any NFL QB has a chance to get hammered every play because he has the ball. Physically, Mahomes looks more at risk to injury than Allen to me. They both can throw the ball where they want it when they need to. I was at the game Sunday…hard to describe how awesome the environment & the elite quality of NFL players when seen live.

Mahomes is the easy choice. Brown needs to suck up his pride and move to RT. He can’t touch speed rushers, and you kind of need to to play LT in the NFL. He can be an elite RT, but either way RT and LT(depending on the defense) are a problem.

Things could be a lot different if Hunt didn’t lie to the owner. A real threat at RB would make Mahomes job a lot easier as well.

313-150 + 184-92 + 129-58 + 38:15-21:45 = 10-7

Agree. Both are great, but if I'm building a team today Allen is my QB and it's a pretty quick decision.
