Allen laid an egg this year for what we expect of him, but anyone giving up on him as a top 2 or 3 guy is foolish. Peyton Manning didn't win his first super bowl until he was 30; John Elway didn't win one until he was 37. Allen is a freak and could very well win a super in the next couple years.

This was even funnier the first time, when I heard it about Tyreek Hill. One MVP season later…

Allen is 2 or 3 great seasons away from even being in the conversation with Mahomes.

Burrow has the better opportunity to be at the top of the class w Mahomes.
Despite what Joe Burrow thinks, his optimal window is now and the next year, maybe two. Lots of guys on that team are going to want to get paid all about the same time and we'll see how the Cincy front office handles all of that. So far KC has done a decent job of reloading and replacing a star WR and other parts after giving Mahomes his money. They have drafted pretty well the last two season and have found lots of late round values. The Bills crunch is coming next year, as is the Chargers'. So 3 of what I see as the biggest current threats have work to do. Jax has a good coach and will become the new thorn from the AFC South for a while, but even they have cap issues next year, even with a rookie QB deal.

Regardless of how talented your QB is, if the front office messes up the transition from rookie deal to first big contract, you are more likely to be heading down the Phillip Rivers route than what KC has done with Mahomes.

Allen is the most overrated QB in the league.
In the last 3 years, Allen is behind only Stafford, Mahomes, and Rodgers in EPA per play in the postseason (min. 90 plays).

He has 9 TDs and no turnovers in last year's playoffs.

He has 5 TDs and 1 INT in the 2020 playoffs.

Up until this year the only reason he hadn't made the Super Bowl was Patrick Mahomes.

Serious? I'm not a Chiefs fan but obviously watch them a lot, seems like a whole lot more than 1 out of every 4 of those broken scrambly pass plays end up going to Kelce, but could just be me.
Travis kelce is an all time great too no question. He's probably the greatest TE of all time. I don't think that lowers Mahomes greatness though. Is Gronk or Brady not as great because they had each other? Travis Kelce had Alex Smith for a long time and while serviceable nobody here will say Smith's a legend

And yet..... 76 people here in this poll are voting for Allen over Mahomes. I think you just added another nail to the argument outlining that in every objective metric Mahomes is a class above Allen. There literally is no argument outside of personal fandom or hatred to rank Allen over Mahomes.

Jamarr will have to be paid too

Oh, Allen is in the conversation as a Top 2 or 3 guy. It’s just that he doesn’t belong in the conversation with Mahomes.

Certainly. But please don't say Allen is the most overrated QB in the league either (I know you didn't say that but that was why I made those points).

This poll started literally the day after the Bills beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead. At the time, Allen looked every bit the MVP candidate, if not more so than Mahomes.

Allen is still a god damn good qb. People who are crapping on him are insane.

Wait, what did you expect from him this year?
