Does the graphics guy need some help with directions?
I am guessing that is the direction as you are facing the stage.
I'm definitely biased, because I'm not a big concert guy to begin with, but I really don't understand the "stadium" concert thing. Sitting on an aluminum bleacher, in potentially crappy weather, 80 yards away from the stage, just doesn't seem fun. That said, I hope those of you going have a blast, and ISU makes a lot of money.
Can confirm it's awful. Lots of folks used to it being multiple lanes driving in the lane with oncoming traffic, especially turning left off University.
For football you all huddle on the concourse. Learned that against SDSU.
According to Weather Underground right now looks like the rain will be pretty much over by the time the Concert starts:
We are going to need some professionals weigh in because the NWS has 60-70% of rain after 6pm. Also on Weather Underground they also say:
Just came down 16th street a few minutes ago and for anyone coming up tomorrow you will want to avoid that area if possible. They have one lane each way from university going east, all the way to Vet Med. The entire north lane is down to dirt, and the turning lane back to the North on University is gone, so all the traffic will be using one lane to turn onto University going back west.
So if we have to get into Vet Med for parking tomorrow, would you suggest getting off University or Duff?
Duff, going to be a lot faster. You are going to have to cross traffic but university will be a zoo at 16th and university. Hopefully tomorrow they will have police there directing people into the Vet med and the grass lots.
Wife and I drove down and are listening from the car. Looks like a pretty decent turnout and the weather seems to be cooperating.
We can hear it in north Ames, west along Ontario.
