Lindell Wigginton

why would he want to go to the Pac 12 where he will have limited exposure? The Big 12 plays their games on the ESPN networks, great national exposure. The Pac 12, if they do play on the national channels plays their games late at night. Plus a lot of the games are on the Pac 12 network, which has limited distribution, even in Pac 12 states. I know there is a whole lot of things the go into recruiting and the decision making process for a recruit, I just hope our coaching staff is aware of the exposure aspect and not leaving that stone unturned.
There have been plenty of players from the Pac 12 drafted by the NBA. If you play in the NCAA and have talent, the NBA will find you.

Seems like an odd thing to do. Don't you get a "higher" score as an expert if you lock in further out? He's just hurting his score.

Initial reports were that Oregon was backing off wigginton after this only to contradict themselves to say they'd take two point guards. Prehm, the Oregon insider, was reacting accordingly hence his frantic crystal ball switches.

Oregon might be willing to take two point guards but I don't think Wigginton liked that commitment

While that's probably true...He would get 10x the exposure at ISU just being in the big 12 (a much better conference) and on ESPN nearly every game not to mention it would be a lot easier for his family to watch games..not sure many in Canada get the PAC network. At this point if he doesn't chose ISU and does ASU it's simply because he wants to play for Bobby H because his brother did and he knows exactly what he's getting.

BTW..I've been to Arizona a dozen times and you couldn't pay me to live there. Everything is brown..sure it's warm in the winter but I like the winters.

ASU has a 14,000 seat arena. They only had 8700 fans for their home game with Arizona last year. It looks like they have between 6000-7000 fans for most conference games. Pretty sad.

Yes the winters in Arizona are nice, but.....

If Lindell is more concerned with partying with hot coeds and weather, he may chose ASU. If he wants to win and be the man ight away for a coach that knows a heck of a lot about what it takes to be a NBA PG, he'll come here.

Look I hope you're right, but you do know that Bobby Hurley was an NBA PG for like 7 seasons.

I realize that, and frankly I have no clue what Hurley's record looks like for developing players, but I do know that Prohm has a GREAT track record with NBA PG's and ISU goes to the tourney every year, while no one even knows if ASU makes the NIT because no one cares about their hoops program.

Has anyone ever walked away from Arizona State thinking it sucked? Nope. However, many basketball recruits have visited and not gone there.

Actually yes. Not really a fan of the campus setup and tailgating is essentially non existent. IMO, just going off of my experience with ASU while living here, it isn't so much how "great" ASU is but rather everything else that surrounds it. The weather is great (despite being hotter than h*ll in the summer), there is a lot to do in a pretty reasonable distance to campus, and there are quite a few attractive women around. Of course I'm biased being an ISU grad and growing up in IA but honestly ASU itself doesn't exactly blow you away with its first impression. All personal preference though and that't just my opinion.

Well the first example with an ISU slant is Romello White...

Bobby Hurley is a selling point for recruits and he has put together some promising classes in two years. Bobby has the bloodlines and name plus brought a terrible Buffalo program out of the gutter prior to taking the ASU job two years ago. Wiggington possibly has a prior relationship with Hurley due to his time in Western New York/Canada location too.
While I think ISU is the better program with a great opportunity for Lindell next year thus in good position but I can see him being intrigued by ASU and wanting to take a look.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned that Hurley was in Blue Chips. I guess it's my duty as an old man.

I have been to ASU and I think it is an ugly place. plenty of hotties though. Like others have said, it is just going to come down to what is important to him. For ASU, good social like, good weather, and if he is a good fit with Hurley. The last part concerns me the most. For ISU, more exposer, way better home venue/atmosphere, better looking campus, and a coach that can possibly get him to the NBA. What does he want?
