Just repeating what most already know to put this scoreboard in perspective.

When this scoreboard is completely installed, it will be the 16th biggest scoreboard in college football. It will be the 4th biggest in the Big 12 behind Texas (biggest in all of college football,) Oklahoma (6th biggest in college football,) and Texas A&M (11th biggest.)

Iowa's scoreboard, installed in 2004, is 35th biggest in college football and 5th biggest in the Big Ten.

Other notable schools that Iowa State's scoreboard will be bigger than theirs: Ohio State (18th) Florida State (22nd) LSU (30th) Alabama (68th).

Looks like they are attaching the angled iron pieces to the bottom of the crosspiece.

Probably easier to do from a few ft off the ground than 50 ft in the air.

I did see the West crane today unloaded a trailer full of long galvanized steel members today for what I would think would be the angled top and bottom pieces.

Looks like they are currently welding on the Field side East angle steel member now.

Just got back from watching the erection live. From what I've heard, they are lifting it up about 5 feet (which looks like they have done already), and then have about an hour and a half of work to do before lifting the whole thing up. You can't just rush into a massive erection like this one, it takes a lot of time and effort to get it up on that level.

They'll do it all tonight. Right now it's about 5 feet off the ground while they check the welds/bolts etc. Then they'll lift it onto the towers. process will take quite some time. a couple hours probably.

uhhh, they're in the process of lifting the scoreboard crossbeam onto the vertical supports.
