The one positive is North Carolina doesn’t scare me at all. Certainly it would be a toss up, but could be worse. Take the Duke game out of it for UNC due to the whole rivalry thing, and they have been pedestrian against good teams.Seeing some brackets on BracketMatrix being updated this morning to us playing North Carolina in Greenville - that would not be ideal.

He's just off with some teams. Iowa is no better than a 7 right now and he has them a 6. Iowa State is arguably a 7 as well but probably an 8 at worst and he has them a 9.What the Hell ESPN....
ISU loses AT #3 Baylor(prob a 1 Seed), by a few points.
Heck, ISU was in the lead, later in the 2nd half......
ESPN- Yep, "Bad Loss", lets drop them down another seed line.............wtf
Be better Lunardi!
I sure as hell hope the committee doesn't put half of the Big 12 teams in one region with another region having zero. This is a year that the league could have a real good showing in the tournament - it would be a shame for league teams to be knocking each other out early.
Agreed. More a shot at the last posted bracket than anything else.I think the fact that the Big 12 is one of the few conferences that plays a double round robin will help in this regard. Teams that have already played twice can't meet in the Tournament prior to Sweet 16.

ISU ended on two losses, with the second to last being terrible. Dropping after Baylor is paying for the OSU loss twice. IMO, OSU was such a bad loss that I'm okay with it.What the Hell ESPN....

I wouldn't say losing to Okie St is a terrible loss. It was awful to watch for sure, but it's not like losing to Nebraska at home or something.ISU ended on two losses, with the second to last being terrible. Isn't it possible because of the exact reasoning you laid out that a team (not even saying Iowa State) from the 8/9 seed lines you predict might be moved to the 7 line due to scheduling problems? My bracket for today after this weekend's games.

If Iowa State loses to Texas Tech and stays in that 8/9 range, our first round opponent will likely be one of the following teams.
We can't play Creighton or TCU obviously. Marquette can't play Creighton, UNC can't play Miami, San Diego State can't play Boise State. ISU or TCU can't be in Baylor's pod (or Kansas if they are a 1-seed). Michigan State also can't play in Baylor or KU's pod. So it would not be surprising at all to see Michigan State playing either ISU or TCU.
- North Carolina
- San Diego State
- Michigan State
- Marquette
- Miami
- Murray State
- Boise State
- Notre Dame/Wake Forest if they climb to 9-seed. Same with Michigan.
Get ready for being in Gonzaga, Arizona, or Auburn's pod if we are 8/9, likely playing one of those above teams. If we beat TT and are a 7, obviously a ton more options available for both 1st/2nd round draws.

Lunardi is losing it. He tweeted his seed list and has Iowa State a 9 seed which is whatever. But, in my opinion, the teams he has as 7/8/9 seeds ahead of Iowa State have NOTHING on our resume.
He has Boise State, Michigan State, Murray State, TCU, Memphis, and North Carolina all ahead of us. I personally think he's gonna be off on a lot of his predicted seeds. He seems to NOT be taking Q1 wins into account like the committee did in their top 16 unveil.
He and Palm are really contrasting on a lot of teams in the 7-10 seeds. I know they're not the best at this, just trying to show how crazy these 6-11 seeds are gonna be.
- Palm has UNC an 11; Lunardi an 8
- Palm has Marquette a 9; Lunardi a 7
- Palm has Memphis an 11; Lunardi a 9
- Palm has Iowa State a 7; Lunardi second to last 9
Yep but then another really 'good' expert Jonathon Warriner tweeted that he think ISU is really hard to pick but can see them actually being a 7 seed even with a loss to TT. He currently has ISU an 8 but still said that about us being a 7 so who knows.while I typically agree with Lukas Harkins who is the #3 bracketologist has us as the last #9...
