Not sure how that thing does not winterkill. There must be a few deep holes, but it looks like a 3' deep muck hole for the most part.

Don't know about big bass. Definitely a decent number of smaller ones swimming around there that have clearly made it through a winter or two.
Mute Swans over Trumpeter Swans. Didn't the staff try Trumpeter Swans years ago and found they wandered too much causing traffic problems and such?
