Huh? Isn't part of the coaching job to recruit? So is Roy Williams not as good of a coach b/c he recruits 4/5 star players?!?! Answer is no

Roy doesn't recruit, he just has to sift through all the 5* that want to go there and sign the ones he wants.

All those guys recruit 5 * players and win 25 games a year. Are they worse coaches than guys that win 18 a year w/ 3 to 4 star players?

All i'm saying is a good coach can take mediocre players and make them into pretty good players. Truthfully, I don't know who you determine how good of a coach you have that always and I mean always has 5* players. They better win 25 a year at least.

So you don't think winning with 5* players is easier than wiith 3*. When was the last time a 3* team won a championship? Not saying it can never happen, but I'll take the 5* anyday over the 3*.

I always got tired of hearing how great of a coach Phil Jackson was with the Bulls. Who wouldn't with all the talent they had. He didn't do anything in LA until they got Kobe some help with alot more talent.

Hard to believe some of you have decided a young mans future because of the way you have seen him play 5 minutes in a game. Iowa State will always need to have a better coach than the Kansas and the Dukes of the world because of the lesser talent. I define coaches by how they take mediocre players and make them into pretty good players. How much coaching does it take to win with all 5* and McDonald All-Americans, far less than with 3 and 4* players. Give the coaches and Mann a chance, and for those of you who don't remember, all freshman were not allowed to play, at all. Maybe someone knows what year that changed.
