KU vs Somebody Diallo's first game

Do they or don't they? Make up your mind.
My bad, I was too confident in people's critical thinking skills. I will type it out fully to be more clear. "Diallo is exactly what was missing from the current stacked KU roster." We only had 29 of the 31 flavors; Diallo fills in those last two nicely. You can leave "They don't need him to make a deep run in the tourney this year" the same.

Like I said, guys like Lucas and Mickelson are good to have on a team with talented freshmen bigs. Embiid doesn't turn into the player he was at the end of the year as fast as he did without having Tariq Black mentoring him in practice and holding down the starting spot until Embiid was ready. Lucas and Mickelson have that same job at KU this year.

Nope. Jamari Traylor is going to mentor Diallo. How does that sound?

Ah yes - the old tuco condescension emerges.

T-Rob...really? He was a great ball-player with an even greater ego...and a pisspoor attitude.

the derpth thing must be just fans of "hawk" teams

They aren't that good but we got a lot of them!

KU won the Big 12 last year with Traylor and Lucas getting big minutes. You'll be wishing for that kind of depth when Niang or McKay pick up early fouls.

That's an interesting take, haven't heard that one before. How was his attidude poor? He didn't get a lot of minutes his first two years behind the Morris brothers but he never moped about it. When he got his chance as a Junior he led KU to the National Championship game (and obviously a Big 12 Title).

more accurate. Ku didn't win because they were playing two average posts. They won because their guard play picked up when it had to and Ellis had a big year. Which covered the talent problem KU had down low. That and ISU and OU choking in easy games.

I'll always take quality over quantity in college bball, as shown in the 3 games both teams played last year, thanks though

Your "quality" got you tied for 2nd place. Maybe 2nd outright this year?

What does your opinion of him as a person have to do with anything in this conversation?

I am pretty sure that the quality that KU will get from Mason, Graham, Selden, Ellis and Diallo will be just fine come Big 12 play. And I think Diallo and Bragg will successfully address any talent problem we had down low.

I'd rather have ISU's starting 5 than Kansas' this year. I'd rather have your coach though so we'll see how it plays out
If only games were played between teams that were only allowed to have 5 players...

Still think ISU vs. KU head to head will come down to fouls on McKay and Niang. If they stay on the floor as much as they can play without any foul issues, I like ISU. Otherwise KU. Imagine they will go 1-1 against each other this regular season.

That's my point. You want the better players, you don't want the average fill in guys playing minutes so you can talk about how great your depth is.

Again in bball: better players >>> a lot of average ones

Also, like birds flying south for the winter, KU fans coming out of the woodwork in December (and disappearing for football season) is a Cyclone Fanatic tradition. Welcome back.
