Anyone remember when Tuco didn't want Diallo?
Went from did not want>not going to be a big impact>not going to make or break the season>(after one game vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore Poly Tech)OMG HOLY MOLY DIALLO SO GREAT BILL SELF I'M ON MY KNEES FOR YOU
Too funny. It's the last one like that you'll see from Diallo at KU; Self had a few words with him about it. I can't blame the kid for busting it out in Game One. If it drew a T then so be it.Actually yes. Hey, I love flashy dunks like anybody....but Rashon Clark did it right with authority, not put his hand behind his head and showboat on some ****** team. If refs say they will call that then make things consistent. And these two were obvious ones. As we know, BDJ was an interesting player at times for us last year... would him getting checked by pulling that stunt changed his behavior on the court? We don't know. I just go back to McGee's because his really wasn't warranted, in fact it was BS. BDJ's and chicken sqawk Diallos were T's.
Went from there are other big man targets in the class I wanted more (still the case) --> not going to be the make or break to the KU season (still the case) --> he is going to be great and fun to watch (still the case).Went from did not want>not going to be a big impact>not going to make or break the season>(after one game vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore Poly Tech)OMG HOLY MOLY DIALLO SO GREAT BILL SELF I'M ON MY KNEES FOR YOU

They don't need him to make a deep run in the tourney this year. They are stacked without him. They made a Final Four in '12 with scrubs Kevin Young and Justin Wesley as their only bench bigs and Connor Teahan the Zach Efron lookalike as their first guard off the bench. But having him sure does increase their odds.I think most of it was "Kansas doesn't need Diallo"...

Yep.2012 team started Withey and Robinson. You start Jamari Traylor this year but you're stacked without Diallo?
Yep.
@SDSU will still be a battle no matter how good they are. That team will always play great defense and SDSU is a tough place to win a game. They lost to a ranked Utah team, a ranked West Virginia team and a pretty good Arkansas Little Rock team.KU still has post issues. Going to be interesting to see them against a real team now with Diallo. Doesn't look as though that will come until January since SDSU is down this year.
Their job is to battle test the young guys in practice and hold down the fort in non-con while the freshmen learn the ropes. Hunter is already 6th in the 6 man rotation and Bragg is closer to passing Lucas to move him down to 5th. If Bragg and Diallo continue to improve at their expected rate, KU won't need Lucas or Mickelson to do anything but turn off the lights when they leave after mop up minutes with the walk ons. So why you care about them is beyond me.I don't get how you think Landen Lucas and Hunter Mickelson are assets to your team. Without Diallo I'd take 2012's bigs every day of the week over this year's and would probably still take them even with Diallo

This really isn't that hard to understand. "Without Diallo KU is still stacked" includes the ENTIRE TEAM and not just the big rotation. There is no doubt in my mind that this KU team is a better equipped roster top to bottom to have a better chance to make the Final Four than the 2012 roster. Was the 2012 roster able to overcome their limitations and make the Champ. game? Yep. I am just saying that the 2016 KU roster has less limitations (and is thus "more stacked") than the 2012 KU roster. Is the 2016 ISU roster equipped to make a Final Four run? Yep. Would they be "more stacked" if they had three more capable big men on their bench just in case they were needed? Yep. You're making an issue where there isn't one just for the sport of arguing with me.Hunter/Mickelson are just as much scrubs as Young/Wesley were. You're pretty much saying without Diallo that Bragg/Ellis/Traylor are better than Robinson/Withey were. Without Diallo KU was not stacked at all in the post
He tried to block EVERYTHING last night and every shot that went up in the paint while he was playing was impacted. And for the record, his wingspan is two inches LONGER than Embiid's.
Diallo is exactly what KU needed.

Individually, I would take T-Rob over Ellis and Withey over anyone other '16 guy as well. So what? Maybe we have a different definition of what a stacked roster is. I define it as meaning that you have more bodies that can play at a high level. The 2012 KU starting five was better.
