Re: DG Blows it again

No he was falling over. He got his feet tangnled in Pullens cross over. This loss is not on DG. If this team could get an offensive roubound at the end of the game ISU wins.
I also blame our two other putzs who stood around while pullen went for the layup after DG fell out of the way. I mean, cm'n man make a better move than a look at the shooter.

Call timeout when you get the ball to mid-court like we did at the end. Put up a ridiculous shot that had no chance.

How about we run a set play instead of a DG isolation?

Bad coaching today - growing pains with the mayor. Can't wait to get this season out of the way.

Then the players they were guarding would have been wide open so same result.

I don't blame Fred or DG. Watch that last play, DG had 3 options: JVB off the pick and pop for 3, Scotty in the corner for 3 if his man helps, or an ISO for DG if neither JVB or Scotty's guy helps. If you were to write out our three offensive strengths, it would likely be Scott and JVB shooting a 3 or DG driving to the rim. Coach Fred put the guys in a position to succeed there, DG took all he had open, they just defended it well.

If you want to get mad about something, get mad about giving up wide open threes all game. Get made about Ejim for the second time in two weeks not hedging a ball screen giving the other teams best player a wide open three.

While true, at least their shot would've been more difficult than an uncontested layup by a talented senior leader....

This is all on the coaches. I don't blame DG at all. This is obviously a designed play because we have seen it over and over after timeouts this year. It just doesn't ******* work. It is very troubling for me that the coaches haven't figured out anything besides this one play to run at the end of games. Everyone in the B12 knows what we are going to do with a small lead at the end of games and they exploit us every time. We will continue to lose these games as long as we continue this approach.

It is starting to look like a coaching thing... Losing the same way at the end of games is very alarming. DG played a good game by the way!

Just sad.

Same ****, different day.

I really, really, really hope that Fred reviews these losses alllllll offseason long and learns something from them. Because I don't think he's learned a damn thing yet.

I think Christopherson was checking out the student section under our hoop when Pullen made that layup.

Re: DG Blows it again

It was a called isolation play for Diante. They did what they were supposed to.

How do you know this? Did you not see the pick and pop at the top? Did you not see Scotty spotted up in the corner? Should I assume you are an assistant?

Agreed. Some refuse to be critical of coaches.

Coaching is at fault for that one.

We need somebody who won't "try" to win games, but somebody who WILL win games for us. As soon as we get somebody (somebodies) in here with that attitude, we'll be set.

They defended it well because it is the exact same ******* play we have run in every one of these...5 (?) games where we lost games in the last minute. It's not some coincidence that every team in the B12 knows just what we are going to do at the end of games.
