KRNT Reuniting Marty & Miller

Hopefully never. Deace very good. Miller really bad. Any conversation had to have an iowa hawkeye reference of some sort. Also just flat out stole many of Deace's thoughts.

I never minded Jon Miller too much as he at least admits he's a hawk homer. I'm ok with "homers" as long as they own up to it and admit it. I thought Miller & Deace worked very well together. But yeah, there's no way Deace is coming back -> he's got a MUCH better gig now.

@papski8848 Not sure. I'm at 13. Ask @AndrewCDowns. He's been slammed today, but I'm sure he'll get to it.

Andrew Downs @AndrewCDowns
@MurphyKeith @papski8848 I'll get it up before 7...sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience.

Makes sense, Downs would have had to go straight from producing the M&A Show to hosting the 4pm show.

Tirrell and Miller have good chemistry, and make for solid sports radio, whether you agree with them or not.

Marty and Miller are great together. I'm looking forward to the reunion. Any idea when they start?

Does 1350 still air Cubs games? It'd suck for M&M to get preempted by that garbage.

I'm curious, what happens to the advertisers who sponsored programming episodes or guest? Do all of Ken Millers guest go with him to KRNT or are they obligated to stay with KXNO since they were "sponsored" by local businesses. I'm not a fan of Tirrell, I thinks he's as smarmy as they come. It will be interesting to see what KXNO comes up with to compete against Marty and Miller. Has anyone heard a time slot they will be in? I'm assuming 4-7pm.

How about CW and Jon Miller on the afternoon drive ... now that would be an "interesting" show.

As for everyone wanting a "national" show -> i personally don't want one as i can always stream a national show or listen to a podcast of it.

In today's day and age, i don't think we need a sports "expert" on our local station, just someone who can do good radio. All the "experts" are doing their own podcasts where they are not limited by time (which i like that idea a lot better anyways). Give me someone who can do good and fun radio (like Murph and Andy).

Anyways, while Ken annoyed me sometimes, i always liked his "professionalism" and his interviewing skills and will miss it as i am NOT listening to anything with Marty in it. I almost wish they would have just let him keep his own show and paid him more rather than getting a co-host.

The most important question that needs to be asked is, what happens to the "Monday Evening Rebound Show" with Jess Settles and Jack Sullivan?!?! That's the best hour of radio in Des Moines IMHO.

My theory on what happened from what I know about the radio industry:

It took 10 weeks to find a host to replace Brinson because Ken & the PD/GM couldn't come to an agreement on one, more than likely wanting to steer the show in a different direction that it was with Miller/Brinson combo. Basically old man radio. PD/GM shove Heather down Ken's throat and give him no choice. After 2 days of doing his show and knowing how bad of a drive radio show host Heather was he basically said, "eft it!, I can't do this show with this amateur". Plan b, Marty & Miller, those guys are never going to say no to a show on short notice.

Most all radio guys are like good AD's, they always have a plan b at a moments notice from prior connections. There is absolutely 0 loyalty in that industry.

Agree... and i think Ken did an excellent job at asking questions yet at the same time let the guests speak.

People still listen to talk radio? And local talk radio at that?

This is my thought too. I think the reunion has been in the works for a while but Ken felt he owed KXnO so he gave Heather a chance. After two days the writing was clearly on the wall and he quit. I do feel bad for Heather. But I'm not sure she is what the afternoon drive time needs. Honestly, she would be better suited for the Morning Rush.
