KG or cyismydog - scouting report requested on SC

The more I think about it...It was Sullivan's defense that left a bad taste in my mouth...I just remember thinking to myself "Everything we gain on offense, he gives away on defense".

Hmmm... i read on here not long ago that Christopherson

was strictly a stand still slow as molases shooter, guess not.

I would seriously disagree with that. Without a great point guard Sullivan was a 6.5 on a 1-10 scale. I would take Lucca, DG, and even Petey over Sullivan.

Petey over Sullivan? You gotta be kidding me. No need to say more.

I wouldn't take Lucca over him either, not from what we have seen so far.

If I needed a PG badly I'd take DG over Sullivan, but if I was just taking "best available talent" I would probably take Sullivan..... DG has a much higher ceiling though.

You're on crack... Sullivan was slow, but tough enough to split defenders on the drive and get to the line and actually knew how to use a pick...

I don't think his supporting cast from his sophmore year is better than the team we have now and he still managed 16ppg.

Bingo. Sullivan had a great PG 1 stinking year of his career! Unless you count Ricky Morgan, Tim Barnes, and a freshman Will Blalock as great PGs.

Sullivan was obviously not quick, but he could create his own shot better than any of our guards except DG. He knew how to use picks to create space, and he made a lot of pull up jumpers off the dribble his last couple of years. He was just a smart, heady player that made the most of what his small body and bad ankles let him.

I have stopped relying on KG and cyismydog with scouting reports. They are part of the reason why Lucca was built up so high and really, he's a 3rd or 4th option type player, which is what the scouting reports said all along. You'll just have to wait and see how SC plays and make your own decision...

Wish I could go back in time and change his supporting cast and prove that wrong...and no way is he Century Team worthy...still shocked to this day.

1. If I had a time machine Kyle, I would do something different than prove posters wrong on a message board.
2. Jake Sullivan was a pretty damn good player, and IMO is a good pick to be on the CT.
3. Iowa State hasn't had Duke or UNC caliber talent every year.. so our options are somewhat limited.
4. Anyone else tired of ISU sucking at sports?

I still stand by exactly what I said: I said
"Lucca will average 10-12 points a game, and be our best shooter." Spot on as far as I can tell
I also said,
"Craig Brackins will average near 20 and 10", and actually got ridiculed in PM's because of it...how did that prediction turn out?

except that Lucca is averaging 8.

I enjoy reading your info. Keep it comin.

You guys were like "he can drive". "When he's on the court, he spreads the floor". "Just WAIT till Lucca starts playing".... I can tell he is still injured to a degree, but he isn't the player any of you guys built him up to be. You said Brackins would average 20 and 10. That isn't really much of a limb at all, considering we all knew we'd rely on him for points.

I'm not saying that you guys do a bad job, but I think people take your scouting reports too seriously when many of the times it's just spiking the kool-aid...

It's hard to truly evaluate a player in high school without seeing them aside from highlight videos and the occasional tv appearance.

Who was the great PG that Jake played with? History is a bit fuzzy but I don't recall great PG's his soph & junior seasons and Will as a frosh wasn't at the same level his next 2 years.

I'd take Jake in a second on this team. He was a solid leader, tough and had a bit of an attitude- something this team is severely lacking.

To compare Jake to DG is like comparing DG to Vroman- different positions, differerent expectations. The facts are Jake was a better 3 point shot/scorer than Lucca and putting Petey into the equation is a complete joke!
