It saddens me that this has received way more press than today being the 50th anniversary of RFK's assassination.

She enriched herself via vanity. Yes, it's unfortunate that she felt strongly enough to do herself in but she's not some visionary that deserves all this attention. She made handbags and became famously wealthy. Only an out-of-whack, fanatically, religiously consumerist country like this would blow such a thing out of proportion.

First, I've read plenty of stuff on RFK today. You just have to open your eyes and you'll find plenty of tributes to him. Second, part of the reason why this death is getting more attention is because it happened today. RFK died 50 years ago. Third, in general there is always a lot of attention of celebrity deaths. I have no idea if you get on your high horse about every thread on here about a dead celebrity, but I'm guessing you don't. Forth, I don't expect you to understand but there was a lot of symbolism for some women in Kate Spade products. I've read countless tweets about how women felt like they'd made it when they were able to buy a Kate Spade purse with their own money. Kind of like you might be sentimental about buying something that you didn't really need.

Those are items that were started by a person that dreamed and worked hard to create something and employed thousands of people.
I don’t get dissing someone that stayed out of the spotlight for the most part. Who knows if she gave money to charity or if she left money in her will to people that need it.

If the Pope can say “who am I to judge?” in regards to a topic that could get this sent to the cave, who are we to judge what she was personally dealing with? Depression is awful, I hope her family and friends are ok.

The funniest part is that his avatar is of a man who earned over $100 million during an NBA career; money made at a time that ticket prices and apparel costs have become exorbitant, to the point that many families are priced out of watching a game.
A man who fathered three children out of wedlock; two of whom he didn't acknowledge until they were 17, and then only because they had distinguished themselves on their own. The third, he refuses to have any contact with at all. (The mother was 13 when he impregnated her.)
The biggest wtf in all of this is that Karl Malone's father committed suicide when Karl was three. He himself grew up fatherless.
