KU should be ripe for the pickin', especially w/o Embeed. There should be no problem getting motivated for the game, and anytime we can beat a team with "Hawks" anywhere in their name it's a bonus!

Dustin Hogue played outstanding when we really needed a contribution, Naz too!!

all these comments about how hard it is to beat a team three times in a season.......isn't that what was said about wanting to play KU last year? :jimlad::mad:

A loss to KU would affect our seed less than a loss to Oklahoma State. Not saying it would happen, but that is a valid reason to want KU.

They're beating the crap out of each other. I voted Kansas but I would take either of them after an OT win.

Definitely OSU. I think we actually match up with them really well. Wiggins is out of his mind right now, and I don't know how we'd slow him down. No one can really match up with him when he's playing like he has the last week or so, whereas Smart is Kane's b****. They don't have depth, they're going to be tired, and Brown is hurt. Plus in a close game I'd rather see Ford on the other sideline than Self.

Kansas. I don't think it makes mathematical sense, but I don't like the chances of beating OSU 3 times in a season

I'd slightly prefer OSU in OT. They're not deep at all and will be playing their 3rd game in 3 days. Plus Kansas losing again without Embiid gives ISU an outside shot at St. Louis if the committee penalizes them for the injury.

I'd say play Okie State...since we beat them twice already... I know beating a team 3 times in one year is tough, bit KU did it to us last year easily. I will probably said I am being negative and a troll, but I would rather play a team we beat 2 times, than a team we lost to two times this year....
I agree with this in addition to ok st. Being more tired from 2 previous games.

Watching OSU limp around at the end, I DEFINITELY would've rather played them. DEFINITELY.

Get your nut cups ready boys. ISU will not get calls tomorrow. Refs handed KU a victory in OT today. That obvious foul on Nash at the end right in front of the ref with no call was unreal.

Playing a top-10 KU is almost a no-lose situation. A tired Ok St would have been easier than an a partial road game against every ref's favorite team, but a win over an 8 or 9 seed Ok St does not do much whereas a loss could hurt.

Yeah... not sure why people would want a 1 game Kansas vs a 2 game OSU, EXPECIALLY if OSU had just beaten KU. They would be tired as hell, with no real gameplan or time or prepare.

I would give my left testie to have OSU win this OT than KU. We are going to get pounded like a village mattress tomorrow.

Hey Khaal, do you have any numbers on if it is actually that hard to beat a team a third time once you have already beaten them twice or is that just the perception since it is hard to sweep a team and then the cards to fall just right so you actually face them again?

I'd like to see some actual numbers on that.

Articles like this really provide no proof:

Beating a Team Three Times: Is It Really as Difficult as the Convential Wisdom Suggets?

In the NFL at least it apparently doesn't hold water:
