NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

The two D lineman on the RT and RG are lined up offsides.

Also…

Using that still photo with the blue line? The blue line isn’t even lined up with the ball lol. Really grasping.

And as far as the tackles, all tackles look like they are early a lot of the time. I could take screen grabs from every game, multiple times a game where it appears they leave early. I guarantee I could find the Chiefs OTs doing the same thing at some point if I really cared to go through the trouble.

Thank you for agreeing that Toney was not offside given the blue line issue

Lol except, the blue line was ahead of the ball on that Chiefs drive, going towards offensive endzone. So Bills defense would appear offsides, even though they weren’t and it makes Toney lining up even more egregious.

Good try though.

Was clearly PI last week and should’ve been called. Was clearly offsides this week, so much do that you can’t ignore it. Plus that has been an emphasis this year and called a lot more vs last year.
I'd agree completely. It's 2 huge calls where you don't get either combined with people saying chiefs get all the calls that makes it a little silly

I’d agree it’s crazy to think the Chiefs get all the calls. It’s always been the Packers that get the calls, in my opinion of course.

Receivers are taught in middle school to check with the line judge about whether you are lined up on-sides. This guy was just staring at the ball. It sucks but Mahomes reacting the way he did is just sour grapes.
Pretty much this. KT didn't look at the ref at all, and was clearly off sides. I like PM but his tantrum was embarrassing.

Well, it has been awhile, I'll give you that. But I don't remember refs ever telling a coach one of their players is lined up offsides prior to the snap. Lol.
If the ref is noticing that the offensive players are getting to close or too far back from LOS, they will generally tell the coach so he can tell the kids to either move up or move back. Once that is done, from that point on they will start calling it. It's not a rule, more of a curtesy between the refs and the coaches, or it was when I was coaching.

I'm a big Chiefs fan but Mahomes and Reid need to let this one go and just own it. I get they are trying to protect their player and not through him under the bus publicly but this is not the first time Toney has cost the Chiefs a game this year so may be time to look at why they keep putting him on the field in key situations. Then again the WR group is just a mess outside of Rice and Watson so not like there are a bunch of options to replace him with either as MVS and Moore have cost them games in big spots too.

This doesn't feel like a season the Chiefs will make it to the Super Bowl the way they are playing right now and that is a shame because it's the best defense they've had with Mahomes. And they have some big names on the defense that will be free agents after this year most notably Chris Jones but also Danna, Wharton, Nnadi, Tranquill, Willie G_y, Sneed, and Mike Edwards along with a few other spots on offense like D Smith at LT, Gabbert at backup QB, CEH and McKinnon at RB, and Townsend the punter. Going to have to balance trying to keep the defense intact as much as possible while trying to find a way to upgrade at WR. Almost want to see them trade some major draft capital to move up to the top end of the 1st round to try and get one of the top WR in the draft as they probably can't afford to go out and sign one in free agency.

It's not only that the penalties are happening, but they're always at the WORST time.
Bump from one week ago. It is all about the timing for this team.

Every team makes mistakes. No player is perfect. No coach is 100% accurate.

But the Chiefs make their mistakes, penalties, errors at the WORST time.

KT want to line up offside? Fine. Do it on a check down for a 2 yard gain, not a highlight reel play for Travis Kelce's HoF induction.

MVS want to drop one? No problem. He actually has a highlight reel of horrible drops. But drop one in the first quarter. Not a bomb with a minute left to win the game.

Offensive line hold? Sure. They all do. But stop doing it in the red zone.

They can't take Toney out because they don't have anyone better as you touched on. I'm not even sure watson is better. He doesn't get open a lot. Some of the other guys get open more like MVS but then can't catch it or not on same page with Mahomes. Quite honestly I didn't know an NFL wr unit could be this bad before the season. Pacheco's absence was felt yesterday as CEH reminded us all of how bad of pick he was. Biggest thing with this teams future is we can't afford to miss in the early draft rounds going forward

I agree the Chiefs need to own the Toney offsides thing. He was in the wrong. Once Reid and Mahomes see the video evidence, they should agree.
Last week's PI in GB was more obvious than a floating turd in a punch bowl. That does not surprise me that GB got that call. They get calls every year at Lambeau that give them a W, when they should have an L.
