NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Thursday night games are Ugly, but 5-1 and this Defense is legit. Looks like we might have a WR and the offense is going to get better. Chiefs will be really scary this year when it counts.
While I agree with all of this, we are over a third of the way through the season and the offense is still out of sorts. I'm starting to have a little doubt creep in that they are going to come around to a level that could actually win a championship.

In two quarters against the worst defense in the NFL, Mahomes has thrown an interception, had an interception erased by a PI penalty, thrown a near interception, and has been called for intentional grounding. 65% completion rate.

Not very MVP like.

Lol. At least whiner @Pope is not saying refs helped KC after 7 penalties tonight, 10 against Jets and 12 against Jax.

BTW - the roughing the passer call was worst call of the night.

But keep whining @Pope, sad guy.

Kelce's health is what I would be worried about. He was roughed up in the Vikings game and the short week was bad timing. Coming up gimpy tonight is not looking good. Tonight should have been a relatively easy game and it wasn't. Hopefully the long break will give him time to heal but he's no spring chicken.

Time to trade for Mecole.

Absolutely no brainer.

Division games never seem to go as easy as they should even when one of the teams is clearly inferior. Both games against Denver last year were tougher than they should have been.

I don't mind the Chiefs trying some stuff like some of the short yardage and trick plays like they ran last night, I would just prefer it to be with a bigger lead than they had. Although, I'm 100% done with any gadget plays with Toney. To be fair though, had he just handed off to Pacheco on the one they would have had the first down easy.

Mahomes for better or worse thinks he can make any play succeed. To get plays like "Do we have time to run wasp?" you're going get plays like the Interception last night.

The best thing about this Chiefs team is it will translate to cold weather games, the important ones at the end of the season and the playoffs (hopefully outdoors at home). Pass to Kelce/Rice, run the ball well with Pacheco and the best defense Mahomes has ever had.

Overall It was a relatively easy game since our defense was dominant. Offense continues to shoot ourselves in the foot including getting too cute on some play calls. But were 5-1, and maybe the best defense we’ve had in the Mahomes era.

I've seen it over the years, but Andy loves to run practice plays during the game. Sometimes he is getting too cute, but other times, he want to see how opposing teams will react to certain plays and formations to set up stuff later in the season.

It was competitive throughout and Kelce played a lot of snaps. It was his second highest snap count percentage of the season. Not what I would call easy. He was sucking wind and noticeably limping at the end.

Hopefully he can recover and the Chiefs can pick up another weapon on offense through trade because they are playing with fire right now IMO. Mahomes is great but a qb can only do so much and if Kelce goes down they are in trouble. They'll still win a lot of games regardless but homefield advantage is key in the playoffs and a few extra losses is huge.

"The Chiefs' win over the Broncos on Thursday night marked the first time in nearly 100 years that an NFL game ended with a final score of 19-8.

"It's an unusual score, and before Thursday, it had only happened one other time in NFL history and that came all the way back in 1927 when the New York Yankees beat the Buffalo Bison. The crazy twist here is that the Yankees' win over the Bison was played on Oct. 12, which means it happened exactly 96 years before the Chiefs' win over the Broncos, which was also played on Oct. 12.

"Just think about that for a second: There have only been two games in NFL history that have finished with a final score of 19-8 and they were both played on the same exact date 96 years apart."

Solid pickup on a player that knows the system and should be able to hit the ground running, while give up 2 picks down the road.
Hardman's problem is he cannot stay healthy, but he did produce for the Chiefs when he was.
