NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I had this as an L before the season. Titans just aren't a great matchup for KC. I was shocked to see that KC was 13.5 favorites.

KC has a 1 win in last six games against the Titans.

2021: L 21-3
2019: L 35-32/W35-24
2017: L 22-21
2016: L 19-17
2014: L 26-10

So fortunate. Tennessee had a great game plan. Their rookie QB just wilted under the pressure.

Was watching pregame and Tony Dungy was the only one to pick Titans. He said, "Watch the line play." Dude was 100% right. Titans dominated line play, both sides. We were lucky to win.

Huge win, with the Bills losing we have caught them, now just need to win one more game they do the rest of the way to get home field in the playoffs.

Hate playing the Titans, they have a way to just gum up the offense enough to make it difficult to score and when you throw in a missed PAT and field goal, the Titans had enough breaks to pull off the upset. 6-2 is looking very nice at the halfway pole.

Yeah, 6-2 with the two losses that could have easily been wins.

As a Titans fan, my broad comment on the game is that I'm eternally grateful that Mahomes isn't in the division but damn it still sucks to play against the Chiefs essentially annually.

Chiefs did well to overcome the pressure the Titans got on Mahomes throughout. If the Titans had any speed at the edge (everyone is injured) this could have been different. The Titans got a lot of interior push but Mahomes scrambled outside and nobody could catch him.

Also please give us a receiver.

Chiefs have the same problem ISU does at times: can't establish a run game. Other than Mahomes had 4 backs combine for 13 carries for 14 yards. Mahomes is even better when they can establish a bit of a run game so they aren't just coming after him on a blitz or putting 2 or 3 guys around Kelce to take away his primary option.

That was a great defensive performance by KC though. Big stops at key moments all throughout the game

Tennessee is absolutely one of the best teams at generating pressure without blitzing. Mahomes is king of killing blitz defenses, but being able to play straight up and still get pressure on him is his, and frankly any QB's, biggest weakness. This is always one of my least favorite games to watch every year. 3 hours of pure frustration, punctuated by moments of what the hell just happened.

As an Iowa State fan, it gives me comfort watching the Chiefs give up a TD right before halftime with only 46 seconds left when the opponent got the ball. It makes me feel right at home as a fan.

Think they were out of timeouts also.
