NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I'm less concerned with the defense after yesterday than I was after week 1. The offense though has got to figure it out. Rice doesn't come back until week 7 so we can't just say everything will be fine once he's back as they have some tough games against the Ravens and Lions before he returns. They should be able to beat the Giants and Jags. Not in panic mode as Reid and Spags are good at making adjustments but they need some players to step it up and get this offense going.

With the front loaded schedule, I’ve said since before the year that we could easily be 4-2 after the first 6 with a chance of 3-3.

Not ideal but I’d take 3-3 and hopefully be healthy when Rice returns.

Baltimore or Buffalo likely go 13-4 or 14-3 anyway so just try and the West.

I'd be glad with 3-3 after what we have seen so far because I'm worried they will be 2-4.

Just survive without the WR’s. If the chiefs do enough to make the playoffs, and have full firepower during the playoffs, they probably still make the Super Bowl.

Mahomes has to play better. The WR room is lacking, but he is missing way too many throws. The throw to Gray on the opening drive, missing JuJu on a blitz read, Kelce goal line throw was a little low (still shoulda been caught), multiple deep throws where he just isn’t close. He is not throwing with much anticipation or throwing guy open like he used to. He is carrying the offense with his legs.

He has been schemed against to death right now, and it’s taking insane effort just to get a meager 17 points for over 2 seasons now. Reid also needs to overhaul his play calling as it’s been terrible. The defense played better but Hurts looked worse than Mahomes did.

Been a long time since the offense looked that bad, they had pressure on Mahomes the entire night, just how bad would they be without Mahomes getting out of trouble, time and time again? Get Rice and Worthy back will help, but when was the last time a back ran more than 10 to 12 yards? Go out and offer the Jets a 2nd round pick for Hall, he would improve our running room about 100%

10 straight division titles and 5 super bowls and 3 titles in the last 6 years. Who's your team again? Pretty sure they were 1-2 two years ago and won the Super Bowl. Who? Pretty telling when the haters blow their loads after 2 losses. That's a normal 2 week stretch for half the teams in the league.

These things entitled you to call for players to purposely cause really bad bodily harm with something that's very illegal because of how damaging it can be, on a player for....scoring a TD?

More sprint rollouts since Taylor continues to be *******.

I can't wait till we can dump Taylor after this season. The dead cap hit does down to about $7.4 mil for 2026 if they cut him which is still better than paying the $27 mil cap hit he'd cost to roster another season. Amazes me how he still can't figure out how to line up correctly after he's been penalized a bunch of times for it the past 2 seasons. Makes you wonder if they may even try Moore at RT if he keeps messing up. Taylor is probably one of if not the worst contracts Veach has given. Veach has a pretty good track record for free agent signings and draft for the most part but he really missed on Taylor.

Taylor led the league in penalties last season and is off to doing it again this year. Veech kind of panicked when we lost the guy to the Bengals and then signed Taylor at a price the guy we had wanted. Simmons had his first below average game last night, he really struggled with the speed off the edge of the guy for the Giants. But overall he is going to be fine out there at LT, just needs to keep getting reps and knowing the league.

The thing that is most frustrating about Taylor's penalties is that they usually come at inopportune times like negating a first down play or when we're already backed up in a long down situation. I mean for a guy that has been in the league since 2019 you'd think he know by now where to line up before a snap but nope he still keeps doing it. And it's become such a big thing that you know the refs are watching it because he has a reputation for it.

I like the Chiefs to win straight up. Im seriously considering throwing some money on this. Mahomes has only been an underdog at home 2 times in his career and they have both been this season.
