NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Not having your two top WR weapons and a washed Kelce doesn’t help, but Mahomes needs to have better placement on a lot of these throws.

KC needs to improve their running back room, we get zero explosive plays out of the back, Rice suspended, Worthy hurt, and the depth they thought they had is gone. Need to get rid of the tosh pull, three times in a row the right guard jump early and it was never called. Taylor stick sucks at right tackle but Simmons is going to be a stud on the left side. Just have to keep grinding and see what happens.

Its not like they're being blown out ffs. They need to stop being so predictable and they'll be fine. They aren't the juggernaut offense they were 5 years ago. Getting their top 2 targets back will mean a lot.

They don't need all-pro backs. They just need to actually act like they are committed to running the ball from time to time. Its amazing how much better the offense has moved the ball the last 2 weeks when they have attempted to run the ball and mixed in PA passes. They don't have the weapons(especially with injuries to Rice and Worthy) to just drop back and throw every down. Unfortunately it always in the 2nd half when they're already in a hole.

I'm saying you make the guy pay a price for going to the well. This isn't anything new. Not exclusive to this game either. If you don't think there are bounties in games you're nuts. I can't even imagine what this board would be like if that was Iowa's go to play and they kept running it on ISU.
not wanting to hurt anyone but maybe call the obvious false starts in there and you know it's bad when brady makes a comment about it.

I'm not opposed to the play in general, but they need to be reminded somehow there's a risk when they run it. Perhaps the referees shouldn't give them the benefit of forward progress when they run it like they do other plays. If this was 20 years ago Hurts fumbled that ball on the last drive. Give Philly their due. They make the plays when they need to.

That still wouldn't have been a fumble. He never lost possession and both had it in the pile. That will always go to the offensive player.

Either way I'm not happy about an 0-2 start but I'm ecstatic team is a few plays from being 2-0. They have been awful so far and still in games. That's why it's a long season.

Totally disagree, when was the last time we had a back that scared anyone? Or had a nice long run for a TD? We have survivable backs, nothing more. None of these guys can take it to the house and that is what we need, think how much better this offense would be with someone like Barkley running the ball?

We've had plenty of all-pro backs Okoye, Holmes,Charles and what did we get besides our asses kicked in the playoffs by teams that had great QBs? We didn't have an all-pro back any year we won the Super Bowl. Other than Barkley last year I can't think of an all pro back on a Super Bowl champion in a long time. I agree that we don't have a big time back but our biggest problem is Offensive line and predictability on offense. I just don't see how any back would be productive if he's not really used or the online can't block. RB is the most overvalued position in the league imo. How do you make room for one salary cap wise? The offense always seems to look good when we attempt to run.

You do the exact same thing that the Eagles are doing and prorate it down the road, and pay a lot of the salary in bonuses when it comes do. Go look at the Eagles numbers and how they are getting around the cap. Until we get a back that scares people and can be a home run hitter, we are not go to improve.

The eagles are an anomaly in how they've acquired talent. I realize they beat KC last year but have they been as successful as them the last 10 years? Fixing the offensive line and getting healthy at receiver will go along ways. We have gotten too complacent winning 12+ games a year for too long and anytime they lose people think the world is ending. This team isn't far off. You can't win every game and every ******* Super Bowl. I've been hearing about the demise of the Chiefs for 3 years now. I heard it every time the Patriots lost a game or 2 also. They'll be fine.

No one is giving up on them, injuries are catching up to them, but we need a better running back.

That would be great but I think we're adequate at that position. Andy needs to make an attempt to run the ball. As good as he is he has a tendency to be extremely predictable. Did you notice how when they made a conscious effort to establish the running game all of a sudden the passing game and running game started to work? The play calls have been awful the last 2 weeks. Frankly they were most of last year also. With Rice and now Worthy out there is nobody that can get separation without running some sort of play action or at least making the D consider the run. I'm not sure why a guy that gets payed millions and has won as many games as Andy can't figure that out.

You play to your strength, which is our passing attack, not our running game. For us to get back to the SB, we have to improve, they are close, but they are still missing on long passes and if Kelsey catches that one pass and scores, and it flips the entire game. But the schedule is not going to get easier, we just have to buck and carry on.

Getting Rice back will be huge. Lets not forget that it still remains to be seen if he can be the guy we hope. I mean we know he's a great talent but he still hasn't been available where he's expected to be a true #1 receiver. He was stellar as a rookie when he was kind of in the 2/1 role. I'm optimistic he's can be an all-pro but I wouldn't necessarily bet on it.
