Anyone have any insight to the NW area of the plaza? I'm not sure why they wouldn't have sodded that yet unless something is going in there still. It's view usually mostly blocked by the stadium lights so it's hard to tell what they may be doing with it. Could it be the "trice stripes" artwork thing from the early renderings or something similar is going to go there?

Is it just me, or is the fence gone now? Can we walk right up and get some better pics? Anyone nearby please drive over and get some pics today?

Yup, construction fencing is gone.

Looks like they have scaffolding up on the back side of the SPC, wonder what that's all about.

I'm guessing it could be for the coaches and video folks to record practices? Stay in the shade kinda thing? Just a guess.

I mean not like there isn’t a whole press box area to record from.

I’m guessing it’s for some donor event or maybe media.

That would be my thought. My guess is maybe they'll be doing media during training camp there. Try and maintain social distancing and whatnot?

I'd think anything donor related would be done either in the new courtyard we have or up in that SE corner of the SPC on the 4th floor overlooking JTS.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like that stretch of asphalt in front of the band risers should at least be resealed.

I suppose it’s too much to ask for it to be torn out and replaced just so everything matches with those pretty new pours.

Before anyone suggests the obvious solution, I’m a bit short on pocket change to cover it. At the moment

Since that’s where CMC did his press conference, I’m guessing it’s a compromise between Zoom press conferences, and recognizing that COVID is still an issue.

Outdoor in person meetings >>> indoor.

At the very least, you don’t want CMC sitting at home because of contact tracing, when some member of the media unexpectedly comes down with a breakthrough case.

Because you just know they’d love to have these little media tete-a-tetes in the shiny new SPC, to show it off.

That asphalt section won’t look so out of place when the whole field is viewed. Then we’ll see the asphalt between the grass and stadium on both sides of the field.

Typically, this is done every few years and it usually is completed about one week before the first game. I expect there is a chance that this is done again this year and in the next few weeks.
