I honestly don't think there's room. It was always parked next to the olson building which is now gone. so if it's parked next to jacobsen it the opposing player have barely any room to get to the field.
2nd I cant' imagine that they would allow a semi around the new plaza area.

It'll be parked north of the locker room entrance, so there's no impediment to player traffic flow. The ramp was made wider as part of the hill reconstruction. You can see the "second lane" on the rendering. NEZ-Concourses.png

There have been dump trucks and cement trucks driving all over the new plaza. I don’t think an equipment truck will be an issue.

Guessing it would pull in from the parking lot next to the base of the east ramp, but what do I know?
Just seems odd to make a nice plaza area for fans to use it as a parking area for a semi

That won't look very good. Having the visiting semi parked in the endzone? Is that the best they could come up with?

Who cares? That area is virtually never seen.

The normal pan on kicks is the width of the Jacobson Building.

The Jacobson Building hides it from any press tower shots.

Fans walking in can see it which is very similar to almost all stadiums.

Is that within pissing distance from the top corner of the hillside? Asking for a friend.

What is the time line for fixing the parking lots? .The black top now is literally crumbling into piles of trip hazards.

Resurfacing the massive parking lots would probably cost a few million. Are you a potential donor?

Believe I've heard it's more than just a few million. Also have heard there is a disagreement on who exactly should pay for it between the Athletic Department & the University.

I'm guessing the parking lots will be addressed after Cyclone Alley gets started or completed. I do agree though that the lots are pretty bad.

Yeah, responsibilities for upkeep costs for the whole Iowa State Center has become a little blurry between the Athletic Dept. and the University in general. The Athletic Dept. agreed to take on oversight for CY Stephens and that facility has some massive overdue maintenance costs.

Probably more like $20 mill to completely redo those lots. Probably won’t happen until the entertainment district or if that idea gets scrapped.

Well ..not a donor..but should have sued for taking a hard fall departing the Hilton a couple of years ago. .As an old football player ... it still knocked the wind out of me and broke my glasses. A big chunk of blacktop was dislodged and by tripping over it ..it firmly planted my face into the rest of the debris field. No kidding ...but I am not the suing kind ...so after driving through the lots today by the stadium..it brought back some memories from December night.

Was thinking the same thing. For those that have seen it in person, does it feel more bowled in? I'm not getting that effect when looking at photos, but I think scale is a factor there. It's going to look a lot better with 61,500 packed in there. JTS is pretty ugly when empty and no amount of new construction can hide that unfortunately.

Good question. I thought the same thing from pictures and the webcam. But we were in the stadium for graduation and the north end definitely feels more bowled in. The height is hard to appreciate from the webcam angle. From inside the stadium, it feels much more enclosed than before. I think people will be very surprised and how different it feels. It's really awesome!
