Son said Purdy's locker was cool, and he did say that Athletes were using the many indoor areas; so they said no Pics in those areas. Evidently, they wanted to show off their (Neumann) work to him and the tunnel areas were not finished so they didn't tour that area or the west side, only finished areas. He did say the performance facility was really cool, just no pictures allowed where Athletes were (most of facility). Thus he sent me pics of equipment rooms. I would post the 8 pics I got but can't upload to server, equipment rooms aren't real interesting anyway.
Look how long this thread is and 90% of it is about sod and a concrete wall. Trust me, we’ll find it interesting.

Isn't club seating where we are really missing out. I would think you either repurpose the western suites as another club section or it comes with a new tower/press box. Either way new suites probably have to wait until a new press box.

My strategic plan would be to do the NEZ with regular seats. You can then move the students over there. Once you do that you can expand the Jack Trice Club and sell more good seats for higher values. Whatever you do in the NEZ can leave room or incorporate the new performance center. This is also probably 5+ years down the road. Yes you are paying to move the students, but it opens up the higher value seats for people with money.
when I was astudent we could sit on the 50yd line. The entire east side of Clyd Wms was studenseating, first come first serve. I think I would have lost interest if moved to the end zones. My Bakerhouse crowd sat on the top row, 50 ydline. We could turn around and p** into thewindows of Helser.

OK ill try again, still no go, can someone contact CF webmaster that knows about computers, message just says can't ""upload to server". "he upload failed because the file could not be written to the server. The site administrator will need to resolve this before any files can be uploaded. " Who site administrator?

damn, tried to upload about ten times, same message, frustrating!!! Need Happy Hour
Ok I've complained and rebooted my machine, what more can a guy do :jimlad:
This has been a recurring problem for the last several days. Early mornings or late in the evenings seem like the best times to try.

Whatever you do, don't give up. We need our pics fix!

It’s a known CF glitch, CW said he was “on it”.

They've been watering it daily (along with additional waterings at noon on hot days since last Friday).

You can tell when they water it by spray patterns on the concrete guardrail.
I don't know how many times they are watering it, but when they sodded my yard last summer we were told to water it minimum of 4 times a day for at least 2 to 4 weeks then reduce by 1 watering every 2 weeks after that, if possible and the grass takes. And because it was sodded in the heat of the summer it was a nightmare and still have issues with some spots. Spent thousands on water.

I don’t think that they have too much left to do outside. A couple of pours, adding guard rails and signage, putting down some sod. Inside I have no idea.

Pours on the west hill ramp, south of the SPC, and all across in front of the Jake. And a couple of walkways on the plaza that haven’t yet been graveled

Plus the work to the west.

Looking at the Ames weather forecast next week, sneaking in those pours before Friday could be a problematic.

I wonder if they will be installing irrigation (like the hillsides) for the plaza sod or not? No idea either way, but if they do, the water bill is going to be even more gigantic!

Also, kind of surprised they haven't done more work on the west side, maybe at the expense of the plaza. Going to be busy over there once fall practice starts; guess they must have a plan.
Watching dump trucks drop gravel at the top of the ramp the last couple of days, I was a little surprised they hadn’t finished that ramp a lot sooner. It would have made filling the west hillside a lot more efficient than skid loaders and bulldozer buckets making the round trip from the pile out front.

Like you, I figured they had their reasons.

cysmiley: Thank you beyond words. This is absolutely incredible. I, especially, like the ceiling mosaic of ISU accomplishments. It takes an otherwise warehouse look and gives it personality. The overall accomplishment in a relatively short period of time is simply wow! My hair is standing on end (like putting ones finger in an outlet) just looking at the lounge area. And the coordination to shift electrical and data without outages is, again, head shaking. I think JP should commercialize other expansions to provide an inside scoop of progress. I know I'd gladly see advertisements to see this type of proudful expansion.

Wow, thanks for the photos and all the inside info!

I really like this uniform from one of the pictures you posted. I have a memory of a Jack Trice throwback that the team wore. Anyone remember if this is it? It's pretty darn sweet!

Yes that's it. That jersey was actually designed by an Iowa State grad that I know. When Iowa State decided to use it they gave him a full jersey kit.

The project was not bid as a complete project, Neuman had to bid on SPC, the demolition of the Olsen Building, and the stadium upgrade as separate projects. They won them all' but were really aggressive on the demolition and stadium once they had the SPC, because of coordination etc. People who have worked on projects would easily understand.
This stood out to me. It makes me a bit surprised that Neuman didn’t win the Pedestrian Bridge project as well. They came in second, but were still outbid by Henkel by about a million dollars.

I would have thought (from a layman’s perspective) that proximity would have been a factor in them aggressively pursuing the bid, but perhaps there was too much time overlap in the two projects for convenience or substantial savings.

Any insight from your son on that?

The camera moved around quite a bit at 9:18. You get a little bit of a view of other things.

With the weather, I thought they’d be pouring first thing this morning, when I checked in, no action that I could see. Besides guys standing on the ramp.

Then on that pan around to the west, I caught a glimpse of something. Is that a fresh pour, next to one from last week?

Sorry. Still can’t upload images.

The time stamp says 9:18:03.

A while back, I was thinking that I was mildly surprised that JP hadn’t monetized the construction webcam. I almost thought he could sell subscriptions.

Then I realized when they moved it to YouTube a few months ago, it was monetized. Assuming there are enough hits and views, of course.

Can you not copy the link to the video at that time stamp? Or is that not possible on a live stream?

They are mowing the NE hillside this morning and working on the area between the walkway and the sod on that hillside (same as what we can more easily see on the webcam for the NW hillside and has been questioned within this forum on previous posts). Interesting to point out that they are using a push mower (assuming it is also self propelled).
