The camera has been going all over the place and here is a good shot of the tunnel.

So the tunnel is or is not going to be covered?

Probably trying to see if these two got the buckets separated.View attachment 85250 Somebody really wanted to see what these guys were doing!!!
Is. Someone was clever and resourceful enough to call and ask.So the tunnel is or is not going to be covered?
Geofoam has grown in popularity in the last decade or so, for good reason. I've seen it used most frequently for highway projects.
It's SUPER dense, helps with long-term drainage and protection of underground utilities - especially on slopes like the hillside areas. Also a lighter/more cost effective material than bringing in 200+ dump trucks of fill dirt.
Wish I had a photo of them here without the topsoil added!
It will have many all american cyclones running through it!What is the freaking fascination with the tunnel?
True. But this worry about the roof is just hilarious. It's like the UNI game rolls around, crowd is pumped, team enters tunnel.... oh wait, we're blocked! Turn around! It will have many all american cyclones running through it!![]()
Well, the initial concern was whether the "top" was covered or just fenced in; whereby the kids on the hillsides could watch the all americans run below them, Now we know the tykes will have to line the wall opposite the jake to see the all americans pass by, all very pertinent issues for Cyclone fans, plus we want to make sure all civil engineers on CF feel safety standards were met so our all americans have no issues will falling concrete as they run to the field!True. That mom is 9 months pregnant at this point and ain't a lot we can do to worry about her tunnel. It's all been decided a long time ago. And everything will be just fine.Well, the initial concern was whether the "top" was covered or just fenced in; whereby the kids on the hillsides could watch the all americans run below them, Now we know the tykes will have to line the wall opposite the jake to see the all americans pass by, all very pertinent issues for Cyclone fans, plus we want to make sure all civil engineers on CF feel safety standards were met so our all americans have no issues will falling concrete as they run to the field!![]()
Welcome to the offseason. What is the freaking fascination with the tunnel?
Sorry man, I really had to go.I doubt anyone is going to change your opinion but the view from the webcam is not great. When I saw the ****** walking into the stadium last fall it was much more impressive. Hard to really judge the size from the camera.
Thank you for your contribution to the thread.True. But this worry about the roof is just hilarious. It's like the UNI game rolls around, crowd is pumped, team enters tunnel.... oh wait, we're blocked! Turn around!
I'd say more 'curious' than 'worried'. Don't you think? That aside, I still find it fascinating that an established volume material (ie geoform), is more cost effective than dirt. That said, I can see it being 'quicker' as no settling is required. But, still. It's amazing what non-green material we'll buy into next.True. But this worry about the roof is just hilarious. Not the point of your post but Just about wet my pants thinking about that.True. But this worry about the roof is just hilarious. It's like the UNI game rolls around, crowd is pumped, team enters tunnel.... oh wait, we're blocked! Turn around!
Forty-plus year old walkways, and they were removed because the railings did not meet current code not because they were structurally unsound. Those walkways were older than the entire football stadium. Many of them were admittedly in bad shape so they decided to fix some and upgrade railings to current code and simply remove the others. Some, like the second story ones between Stephens and Fisher, were rarely used. The amount of use on any of the removed ones did not justify the repairs and upgrades required. None were in danger of falling down.Well, the initial concern was whether the "top" was covered or just fenced in; whereby the kids on the hillsides could watch the all americans run below them, Now we know the tykes will have to line the wall opposite the jake to see the all americans pass by, all very pertinent issues for Cyclone fans, plus we want to make sure all civil engineers on CF feel safety standards were met so our all americans have no issues will falling concrete as they run to the field!
PS: They did have to remove overhead walkways between CY and Hilton due to structural concerns!
Once the forms are all in place they will still have to tie rebar for the lid, I assume we are still a couple of days away from a pour.Is today the day the tunnel lid gets poured? I see additional items that look like plywood being placed in that area.
