Ah ok, I wasn’t sure how dated that satellite photo was.
But, it does look like they can fit 2 full fields there if they went into that hill along Beach Ave with those trees and bushes.
If they are able/want to go that far west, they could almost fit 3 fields orientated east-west.

I was just looking at adding another field on the south end. And yes, you can squeeze in 3 full fields in that area if they are able/want to go closer to Beach.

I also wonder if it's the total maintained turf square footage equal to two fields and not two separate 120 yard fields next to each other. With the current field being 180 yards long it wouldn't take that much expansion to the south and west to get to that square footage.

Given it’s Finals Week, I’ve been hoping for one of Friley Beach.

Waitasecond—the last bikini-clad gals I saw there are probably all grandmothers now. Never mind.

Is there even such a thing as “Friley Beach” nowadays?
Careful, one of those current "beach" occupants could be my daughter!

I think the problem is that Beach is on top of a hill, so it add the fields, you would need to dig in to the hill and put retaining blocks in it to prevent it from caving in.

But can a semi back under the walkway? Just wondering ...

It has to be able to. There is a leveled off stall on the east ramp right about where the tunnel outlet is on the west ramp.

Wow, what a busy day at the Jack! They poured the north concourse, top filled and rolled the northeast hillside with nice black soil (sod, here we come) and have almost finished placement of the big Styrofoam blocks by the retaining wall.

I think they also installed a bunch of the precast retaining panels for the outside walkway on the northwest hillside. The big crane was busy moving something (unfortunately most of the action was hidden). If someone is in the area, photos would be welcome to confirm. :)

Can we get a volunteer to go up and clean off the camera?
Having worked for FPM at the Physical Plant as a student, I’m pretty sure that would take a Work Order. It’ll get done by the start of football season, honest!

(I’m joking. Probably, someone at FPM could just pick up the phone and call the Building Maintenance guy and ask nicely)

There is actually a stall for the visiting semi now created east of the Jacobson Bldg in the newly poured walkway up from the field
This, next to the retaining wall? So, they’d pull the truck in cab first, and unload from the back, across the walkway to the Jake, with no dock?

Sorry, just trying to visualize here.

I think they back in. Pretty sure that there is a dock at the bottom and a room to the east under the dirt. But I could be wrong.

That would be one hell of a retaining wall if they were to do that. That's a pretty steep hill going west toward Beach. Also, they'd have to remove that access road, but they could probably come in from the north if they needed to.

I'm told the access road is coming out- grounds access will be in between the Berg and the practice fields starting next year

No retention wall, just taking out the chain-link fence, the road, and adding playing surface right up to the hillside and then stopping. Probably an extra 20 yards of width to the fields, enough to run drills, and such.

In addition to the 150-yard north-south field, we could run at least two 20 plus yard fields going east-west into the hillside.

How are we supposed to take these pictures as "proof" of the east end of the tunnel being uncovered when they don't even show a west entrance to the tunnel??? :jimlad:
