I would also guess they won't lay the sod today. Maybe tomorrow? They probably would have started first thing this morning if they were going to do it today.
After seeing how mangy the stressed sod on Jill looked when it first got laid (insert tacky joke here), I found myself wondering whether we really wanted the recruits coming in tomorrow (Friday) to see it look like that.

Maybe it’s better to let them see that rich black topsoil.

Besides, the inherent symbolism would be obvious—-plenty of fertile ground, waiting for their talent to take root.

Your stadium will be great when you tear down and replace that odd-looking north-end building/scoreboard, and enclose the stadium into a complete bowl.

No doubt the scoreboard is an eyesore. The stadium looks pretty good when it's full though.

I think a high school recruit would find that last line cheesy as ****. I hope Campbell is better than that or if that's his analogy then the delivery would be everything. It's a ******* hillside not a national monument

I dont think anyone is going to be overly impressed with grass on a hill....that is the same thing thats been there for 50 years. Come on people they regraded the same hills and put in new sod.... its not that impressive. Oh and added a new retaining wall.
Its GRASS on a HILL. In a STADIUM! Go to most high schools you see the same thing. I guess you cant see it in most college stadiums....because they actually put REAL STANDS in the STADIUM!

Some of you guys are way too in love with these Hills. They tore down a building and created a grassy area, connected the concourse, and added a retaining wall. Other than that they basically just resodded the hill. Nothing to drool about.

The Performance Center, yes, the rest of this is basically landscaping....er grass planting.

**** off. Our stadium is still better looking than Skeletor Family Stadium, and its capacity is 11,500 more. So go suck JayhaLk c*ck.
I would trade Jack Trice stadium for Bill Snyder Stadium 7 days a week. I love the Jack, but until your inside the stadium and its full, it looks really dated besides the SEZ. The fans are what make Jack Trice great. KSU has a beautiful stadium and they have a done a great job with their renovations over the years. The press box is incredible. The stadiums are both great for different reasons, but I love what Kstate has done with their place.

"tHe pReSSeD BOx iz iNk rEaDybULL" I'll never understand a casual fan's obsession with press boxes. Just dumb. And I've been to Skeletor Family Stadium. It's far from special.

I didn’t say anything about that being used as a “line”, did I? That would be remarkably stupid. I was making a general statement about the subtle impressions rich soil versus stressed sod offer.

Don’t overthink it. Two plus two does not equal seven.

And, while you’re being so clever, you might want to notice that there’s a whole lot of space in front of the SPC that still needs to be sodded.

Or did you think that was going to be a parking lot?

I apologize, I didn't realize you were 14. Yes, the press box is incredible. Has nothing to do with the usage of it, but when you see it from the outside, it looks really nice.

Yeah lmao, relax guys I think any visitor will realize things are under construction and not be concerned. And if they are then they are probably not worth the effort...

Good heavens. It’s an ongoing conversation, and the excitement it that the sodding represents the final visible phase, the culmination of a project that we’ve been watching for a long time.

That’s what the actual excitement is about.

In conjunction with a big recruiting weekend, it created some idle conversation at the moment. Don’t overblow it.

I hope that helps.

A press box is for press.....a sky box has both press and fans.....our press box is 95% for press. with only a couple suites in it, because all our suites and club sections are located in other areas. Most other stadiums with ginormous skyboxes have suites and club sections in them because they have no other place for those sections.

Point is until we need a sky box for more than just the Press it will not be important to upgrade ours. Our press box is plenty big enough for what it is used for.

But if they want to build another club section on the West side like on the East then we will lose suites, and they will need to go somewhere, or if they want to do both suites clubs etc. These are high value sections so when the financials work it will get done, but not until.

But a few years of good football and demand for high value seats can change a lot.

Personally I would like to see the bowl complete before a skybox. I would love to see an end zone like Clemson or Ole Miss. did in their new end zones. Then worry about the press.

Again, I was not commenting on the usage of the box and dang sure don't care what you use for terminology to describe the box. I'm saying that when you walk up to their stadium, it looks very nice and first class with all the limestone that matches their campus. Not once did I say we needed to have a bigger "box". We could certainly keep upgrading the outside of the stadium to match the SEZ and now the NEZ however.

At the risk of this being wildly misconstrued…I see a pumper truck.

This is a simple note for anyone keeping track of progress or might want to tune in to webcam.

Not an indication that I have a fetish about pumper trucks. Or concrete. Or think that filling the next stage of the wall will make all of our recruits commit on the spot.

KSU's limestone facade looks like a prison.
