Jok Eye-Poke

I assume he had to make it look bad so the refs would stop play so he could fix his contact.

That is more believable. I played bball my entire life, been poked in the eye incidentally probably 3 or 4 times and seen it happen to several other players. Never have I ever seen a player go to the ground solely because of it. Normally the game stops, player holds their head over their eye, blinks it off for 20-30 seconds and play continues.

The fact that it occurred because of the moving screen and the over dramatization by Jok probably led to the booing. Still didn't like it.

It should have been a no call or a foul. That's what the fans were booing about. Even Prohm was calling for a travel on the sideline.

Someone needs to chew out the idiot fans who were booing Jok when he got injured.

There were multiple reasons for it. Moving screen, people thought it was Woodbury, and overdramatizing it. Plus the officiating had been getting a lot at that point too.

Not a fan of the booing for the injury either. Hilton was pretty on edge for most of the game - out of frustration, it seemed. Watching from home, I thought the officiating was pretty good and ISU was making lots of dumb mistakes and getting whistles for them but Hilton doesn't care (and that's one of the things I love about Hilton).

John Walters had a hilarious take, when jok went down and it was obvious eye poke, heft said "who did it?", Walters says "Well Adam Woodbury was right there."

LOL LOL LOL LOL what a troll job!

I didn't care for everyone booing him. I hate Iowa as much as the next guy but don't boo opposing players when they go down.

Hated that, too. Pretty classless...wish State fans were above that. Civility, unfortunately, is dead. I came close to going toe-to-toe with a Hok fan at The Johnson County Landfill (aka Kinnick) a couple years ago when the jerk cheered an ISU injury. Perhaps I'm old school, but that's over-the-top!

I sit in the nosebleeds and saw Naz's hand make contact on the first replay. Obviously nothing intentional but he definitely got him. What I want to know is why so many of our fans were booing. No foul was called on Naz and Jok was down on the court clearly hurt. Pretty disrespectful if you ask me.
I was in the student section and I didn't boo because it was clear to me it wasn't on purpose or a foul, but many students around me thought it was a flop/foul. it doesn't help there is a lot of drunk students thinking they know basketball too.

What are the rules about stoppage of play for injuries? I've seen guys get left behind at the other end of the court but the refs don't blow the whistle to stop the play. I'll hang up and listen...

A lot of people here bashing the fans were probably watching on the TV with the commentators and better views. I was booing too, but I thought we were booing the refs since I thought they called a late foul on us and Woodbury was the one that actually got him. I was ******, and it had nothing to do with Jok.

But yeah, I can buy that most thought it was a flop. Who goes to floor for getting poked in the eye? There probably was some embellishment there.

In a 1A high school basketball game i accidentally poked a kids eye out... he didn't fall all the way to the ground...

(Not saying jok exaggerated but just explaining my side view on the play)

yeah, I've been poked in the eye multiple times. Never stopped me from finishing.

Hok fans, quit your crying about the booing. Talk about sour grapes. We weren't booing because he was hurt, we were booing for the lack of either a foul call, or a travel. The fact that the ref just stopped play with no call was confusing.
