If that's Texas Tech's definition of a "Super fan" then I'm glad I'm a Cyclone fan and not a Tech fan.

We should have warned Texas Tech..those Orr's can be a mouthy bunch. ;-)

Do we know what the guy said yet?

Nope, and there will probably never be full proof either. Everyone around him, which is probably his friends and family, claim he said "you're beat, get out of here", while others are saying he was spouting off racial remarks left and right.

I could have sworn the title of this thread ended in a t? an not an n?. Both fit.

He texted someone and said he said some things he probably shouldn't have...I'm guessing '"You're beat. Get out of here ." Isn't what set Smart off. If it was then Marcus needs serious mental evaluations.

If you watch Smart when he is yelling to the refs and coaches he is saying "racist" and "disrespect me like that" or something of that nature. I'm 99% positive based on his reaction and that's exactly what it was, reaction that the N word was dropped or at least an Africa comment as Smart stated. That wasn't a, "I'm frustrated" I'm going into the stands to take out my frustration. There is no doubt his quick turn and aggressiveness was a reaction to whatever he said and if he said you're beat get out of here, why would he then apologize for saying that? Not a fan of Smart's attitude but I don't think we can blame Smart for this one.

If it was something as simple as "You're beat" then I'm guessing Smart must have misheard him. Nobody is going to fly off the handle and shove someone for saying "you're beat". Color me skeptical.

accoridng to OSU's radio broadcast, the fan threw out some racial name calling. If true that fan should be banished from future games, according to John Lucas, this guy has been doing this stuff for years. Its one thing to cheer and boo, but these are kids and we as fans need to remember that.

I kind of feel bad for Smart, i don't think he's a bad kid - he could have gone to the NBA last year and took the money, but he came back because he thought his team had a chance to win it all, plus he wanted to work on his game. Now the season is not going well, injuries and players thrown off the team have hurt. Plus I thought they said m.S. injuried his wrist a few weeks ago and that is a reason his shooting has been down. The kid is frustrated and some fat fan spews something out of his mouth and Smart finally had enough.

Smart should be suspended for his actions, but that fan should no longer be allowed in a Big 12 arena.

Being reported that he called him the N word. While I don't condone what Smart did it is being reported that this fat slob has a history of saying things to opposing players. I wouldn't be upset if someone beat the crap out of this guy sometime.

Agreed.

I'm surprised that Travis Ford let him sit on the bench and then have to deal with fans storming the court being in his agitated state. Definitely could have exploded into something much worse.

Man... on one hand I do think Smart is an overactor who needs to focus more on his actions than his game right now...

That being said, the poor guy has so much spotlight on him. If this was any other player, it would't be getting nearly as much media attention as this. We would also be talking more about what the fan said to Smart as opposed to "Smart being Smart".

Poor guy. Should've struck while the iron was hot an left for the NBA when he had a chance.
