Jan 15-16 Ice Storm?

Traveling in Iowa on Monday could be very dicey. Purple is "lots of ice".

Ugh. I am supposed to be driving down from MPLS to the game and then driving back late that night after. Not looking very likely.

Dude, you are planning to drive through the Bermuda Triangle of winter roads twice in the same day! I have a big triangle on a map of I-35 from just north of Albert Lea and south to Clear Lake. Woo to those who dare to drive this stretch of road!

Sorry people, I was planning to go to this game, so that's why there's an ice storm. #Cursed

It's the worst right? Always at the border is super sketch.

NWS has issued a winter storm watch from Sunday morning to noon Monday for central and southern Iowa. This includes Story County. A lot can still change in forecast but not looking good at the moment.

They're closing schools in KC already. Will KU be able to travel to Ames? Seriously might not be able to unless they come Saturday and even then it's dicey. Could game be pushed to Tuesday?

Buddy is freakin out as he is driving down to the Chiefs playoff game Saturday and back Sunday after the game.

That would be ideal. I'm sure they will get here. I am concerned about getting to the game myself.

Sounds like the temps will warm up down here in KC around sunset Sunday enough to melt the ice. The cheifs game Sunday will be freezing rain the entire game. KU will have a window Sunday night to get to Ames as the roads should clear up by Sunday night.

Rather not deal with that, if for some reason we take a dump on national television and ESPN makes damn sure to cue shots of outside conditions, the job of CP and southern recruits just hit speed bump.

The roads there should clear up, but not up here.

It sounds like things here won't be good until Monday morning.

Should be some tickets for sale. KU fans have a long drive on ice.

Ehh....there haven't been more than a couple hundred Kansas fans at the games the last few years.

So at the very least KU takes the short flight up on Monday. That's unique, but not the first time a team has played the same day as travel due to weather.
