Jack Trice throw backs

Care to disclose what the bid is? Just curious, trying to figure out if I can afford one next week or not...

I was the opening bid for $250 and I bid $275 on a different one and both emails say reserve not met, but I'm the high bidder (at the time). I'm no longer the highest bidder on either though.

Rodger. Thanks. I wonder what the reserve is set at... And why that would be higher than the opening bid. I would think you'd have one or the other.... doesn't make sense to have a minimum bid of $250 but set the reserve at like $500, if that's the case, just set the minimum at $500.

Exactly. I am thinking it's not a true reserve because it doesn't say it anywhere on the site, just the email and your bids shown when you log in to 'my account'. But, who knows.

I just called the cyclone club office and they were just as confused as me. They had me call neulion and they told me to probably just disregard the email and if the auction were to end as it stands right now I would win. They said the reserve is set at 250 which is my current bid. Cyclone club told me they will contact me when they figure out what is going on and I'll report here

Reserve is the max price of the item listed. Lets say the item has a reserve of 100.00 and your starting bid is 50.00... if the auction ends and you are the only person who bid on the item, you DO NOT win the auction. You must reach the reserve in order to win the item.

Example of Reserve Not Met: "A seller lists an item with a starting bid of $1.00 and a reserve of $100.00. Bidder A bids $1.50. The current bid increases to $1.50 but the reserve isn't met. If nobody else places a bid, Bidder A does not win the item."

Another example: Lets say you bid on an item and the reserve is set at 150.00... If your max bid is 250.00 and no ones bids on the item, you WIN the item for the 150.00 price !

a reserve is not a max, it is a minimum that must be met to sell the item. in your bolded example you would still pay your bid of 250

I hope you are right, my bid status says the same thing. I have an email in with some questions. Ill post once I know more...

I'm sure if you bid 250 or more, you'll get the item if you win the auction. Probably just an oversight with the whole reserve thing.

I'm sure the last day of the auction these prices will skyrocket. It will be like ebay.... the one lucky enough to bid at the very last second will be the winner.

Edit: I think it's called sniping.

I bet JP is sitting at his desk all day upbidding these things. "Doris, hold my calls, I'm snipping"

So two weeks in a row I've been outbid at 3:59 PM. I think because I am so used to eBay as a betting format it's screwing me up. eBay lets you put in a max bid but won't go up to it until other bidders have brought it that high. For Cyclones.com, if I put in $400 for the jersey it goes up to $400 right away so of course I'm not going to do that.

Part of me just wants to throw up $500 and say F- it because this is annoying.

I am now the future proud owner of #69.

Average price for these jerseys was $325. Highest $400 (#1 - worn by three players 2 FR 1 JR) lowest $275 (#66 FR, #96 SO).

It appears the average value has gone slightly down each week.
