Correct. Made worse by a certain family member of a player that got a number of people here all twisted up in the hype and slobbering over his every letter.

Consistancy at QB is key. We're not a threat to throw the ball anywhere beyond 10 yards....so DBs play bump coverage, and Safeties play at 12 yds because they know we cant throw a deep ball.

Also, what is everyone's love with the word separation? You act like a WR needs to be open by 10 yards. Almost every slant route run in college, the DB is on the WR's hip and it takes an accurate QB to lead him and put it where the DB cant get it.

You just summed up Tom Herman as a coordinator. Predictable short routes even though they don't work. I guarantee if anyone charted that double slant route he runs all the time on third and 8 or more, it would be amazing how poorly ISU runs that play. Guess what, they keep running it.

Oh, and the safeties never have to play deep because there is never a receiver running deep. Tom Herman evidently doesn't understand the purposed of running receivers at different levels or in other words running off the safety.

It's literally crazy the number of times he calls all hooks or slant routes that would never have a chance of getting to the sticks. Good coaches call plays that are successful over and over again. The don't keep calling plays that do not work.

When will Herman get that?
