Why wouldn't Wilcke wrestle if he's good to go? Is Brands better than him or something?
The two schools of thought are:
1) Brands is better.
2) Wilcke has been benched and this is a motivational tactic.
3) Brands knows Wilcke will lose to Colbray and is ducking
I'd have to take door #2. Nelson looked good on Sunday for sure but I don't think he's better than $$$ right now, even with how inconsistent his offense is.
Protect his seeding would be my guess but I never know why coaches like Brand duck kids

Mike Mann vs Ed Banach (yes I'm old). Their matches were epic.
Long time listener; first time poster. But this question truly piqued my interest. I’d like to submit: Tim Krieger vs Jim Heffernan and Bill Kelley vs Brad Penrith into the debate.
Those happened before I was born but have watched them on YouTube, definitely agree. I have been fortunate enough to have been coached by both. They are both really good guys.
Do you know if Ed Banach is still employed at ISU? He would have been great as a coach but that ship has sailed.
I can say two years ago he sat in front of me and was in the compliance department then but he has since disappeared.
If my memory serves me correctly, Mike would beat Ed in duals, but Ed would win their NCAA matches. I think Ed won 3 NCAA championships.
Might have just been two. Greatest title match I can remember was him versus Mark Schultz and Schultz got him there.
