ISU unranked in AP poll

85% of it, ISU's top two receivers were drafted, lowly Iowa State can't possibly have returning (and added) contributors who are "that good," enough to remain a top contender for the Big 12 title.
Almost word for word from announcers on each game this season I've watched on TV. The qualify it with, they weren't sure.

This. You often hear "AP rankings dont matter, its the playoff committee that matters". Well the selection committee basically just mirrored the AP rankings last year.
How would the BCS have seeded last years playoff?

I assume that narrative will diminish as season continues, but preseason it definitely dominated.

Obviously, Higgins and Noel had a major impact for team's 2024 success, and departure is bound to have impact.

Iowa State not in top 50. Iowa should be ranked much higher!

IDK who put this out, but both Iowa and Nebraska are way too low. I have no issue with Arizona o BYU fans, think they have both been great. Utah isn't on here but belongs in the top 10, and what's with UCF? Is it a Scott Frost thing because then I might agree.

Iowa is top 5. Any other fan base that runs into them admits that they are awful.

No earth shaking differences there between the computer ranking and committee really.

Biggest difference is Big 12 champ is above all the ACC teams in the quasi-BCS ranking.

Committee thought SMU was better than entire Big 12 despite losing their CCG, 0-1 vs Big 12 at home, and Big 12 just being obviously way better at football.

Heather Dinich everyone. This is her article on whos in and whos out today on ESPN. She has always hated on ISU.

BYU on the cusp with those huge out of conference wins against East Carolina and Stanford.
Work to do for ISU. lol. ISU needs to try to be more undefeateder or something. ******* stupid.

I had the TV on when they had a bunch of ESPN commentators on. Heather was on and Holly Rowe basically destroyed her take on stuff. Heather is one of those that has never liked the big 12 nor followed it. She loves her blue bloods more than most.

I've been posting where ESPN has 23 QBs ahead of Rocco too.

If ISU is truly as crap as she thinks...how can Rocco also just be a typical QB? Just totally magical 5-0 for no reason?

1000% this. Must watch and basically summarizes what most of us are saying.

I think Vandy is getting hosed more than we are…
Murph and Andy discussed this yesterday and without seemingly realizing it, they made all the arguments for why the poll is so bad

Early in the show when discussing it, Murph says to just look at the teams ahead of ISU: LSU, Georgia, Penn State
Lol I love that he included Penn State since they are the current poster child for a team that "should be good" but have no good wins

Later in show Andy says there isn't an ISU win that you can point to and say "see that's how good they are"
- Ok so then that blows up Keith's earlier point lol

Then Murph says "look at the teams ranked ahead of ISU and say which you're confident ISU would beat on a neutral field"
- So we're back to just using NIL budgets, historical prestige, recruiting rankings, and NFL draft picks to decide how good teams are?

I get these rankings are hard and they largely work themselves out over the course of a season, but right now, it's easy to point to Penn State and Texas to be dropped outside the top 15
Then if we want to start questioning how good of wins a team has, let's look into LSU. Those Florida and Clemson wins aren't looking so hot anymore
