Ya but I think we would be a weak 8. Maybe not but we aren't that dynamic and I don't think our lines will dominate better competition.I think we have the potential for a top 8 seeding with winning out. Just get in baby...

The opportunity to host one of the two loss SEC teams they are going to try to load in the playoff would be huge. But I would be shocked if they gave even an undefeated Big 12 champ the 8 seed - because the new emphasis on SOS allows them to point at every overrated SEC opponent as a reason a 2 loss SEC team is better.Ya but I think we would be a weak 8. NOPE, Not going to happen. Root for Indiana and just keep winning.Hold your nose and root for Iowa? Ugh. I suppose either way there is something positive.
Clearly we are lacking a quality loss on our resume.Let me present Koki Riley of "The (Baton Rouge) Advocate.
Preseason: ISU ranked 19th
Week 2: ISU ranked 19th
Week 3: ISU ranked 18th
Week 4: ISU ranked 23rd
Week 5: ISU ranked 25th
And I’m sure he has LSU ranked no lower than 3/4 while they’ve beaten Clemson and Florida.. I’m also not claiming Kansas State or Iowa as much better wins, the double standard is just eye-opening.Let me present Koki Riley of "The (Baton Rouge) Advocate.

Oh I knew it was coming. I don't really care about the NC compared the conference championship. I'd like to win it all but I know it's very unlikely. The opportunity to host one of the two loss SEC teams they are going to try to load in the playoff would be huge. I don't think everyone realizes what a screwing for which this announcement set us up...
CFP Committee Placing More Emphasis on Teams' Strength of Schedule This Year | FOX Sports
The CFP selection committee announced it will place more emphasis on strength of schedule when determining the 12-team field.www.foxsports.com
I don't think its that bad. But it depends how it all shakes out, how many 3 loss B1G/SEC teams there are, and also WHO they are.The only way the B12 gets two teams is to have to 12-0 teams meet in the championship game, and then have the game be within 3 points, but high scoring so people cannot say its a boring game. The ACC is looking at getting Miami, FSU or Georgia Tech.
Lots of opportunity for movement next week too.
Indiana @ Iowa
Ole Miss vs LSU
Tech @ Houston (sneaky)
Texas @ Florida (sneaky)
A&M vs Auburn
Half of them dont even check the scores for the week before they vote. For the most part, I agree. But I have the feeling that some of the pollsters don't even watch the games.
Agree, but add: Not too high scoring so that the big 12 "doesn't play defense" narrative shows up.The only way the B12 gets two teams is to have to 12-0 teams meet in the championship game, and then have the game be within 3 points, but high scoring so people cannot say its a boring game. Agree 100%. A 13-0 Iowa State or Texas Tech would have a good chance of being a Top 2 seed. The Big 12 is comparable to the Big 10 this year in terms of perceived strength. An undefeated Big 12 Champ and a 12-1/11-2 Big 12 Runner-Up are both getting in.
Also, an undefeated Big 12 Champ is getting higher than an 8 seed, especially if it’s Iowa State or Texas Tech.
I’m not sure if ISU or TTU would get a top 2 seed but you’d almost have to give them the 4th spot.Agree 100%. A 13-0 Iowa State or Texas Tech would have a good chance of being a Top 2 seed. The Big 12 is comparable to the Big 10 this year in terms of perceived strength.
Let's not forget that an undefeated Cincinnati was a 4 seed in 2021 CFP when they were from the American conference.
I really wish that was true, but how many times does the B12 have to get screwed before some realize that this tournament is set up to get the most teams out of the SEC and B10 as possible, then the ACC and finally the B12. Fox and ESPN are always going to have a huge say in who gets in and who does not. A one loss B12 team will be beaten out by every team from the SEC and B10 that has 2 losses or less. Hell we saw it last season when SMU got in and they lost to TCU earlier in the season. Unless both B12 teams are sitting there at 12-0 before the championship game the loser will get jumped unless there are not enough 2 loss teams to fill out the bracket. a 12-1 runner up from the B12 will be fighting against 3 lose teams from the B10 and SEC.Any P4 team that finishes 11-1 in the regular season is almost certainly getting a CFP bid. Look at SMU and Indiana last year.
This just isn’t going to happen. Because an 11-2 SMU team that was the ACC runner-up got in over three SEC teams that had 3 losses.I really wish that was true, but how many times does the B12 have to get screwed before some realize that this tournament is set up to get the most teams out of the SEC and B10 as possible, then the ACC and finally the B12. I will believe it when I see a B12 team that does not win the title jump teams from the SEC and B10, we can talk all we want about what should happen, but those in power view the B12 as the 4th power conference, behind the other three. This just isn’t going to happen.
