ISU on TV

Fraternity Vacation, I think that was the name. It was terrible, but I have it recorded somewhere. Tim Robbins was in it and they were from Iowa State. They even flew out of the DSM airport in the snow. Not sure if it was really the DSM airport or not.
 
Grey's Anatomy---
Huge guy in a Hospital bed is talking to one of the shows main character's Alex which is a Doctor. He said he was a college wrestler. Alex said where did do you wrestle? The Guy said "Iowa State". Of course Alex said he wrestled at Iowa and then they gave eacher High fives and talked wrestling the rest of the show. Kind of odd for a major, major tv series, but sort of cool.

Watched an episode of Simon & Simon last night as I was trying to wind down after a particularly long day. My wife and I were very suprised to hear ISU mentioned, even though it was irrelevant to the "plot" (it wasn't a very good episode) and was only in passing.

The blonde character (AJ?) came into the scene dressed in totally 80s neon beachwear ready for a day at the beach playing volleyball. His brother calls him out as having ulterior motives (women) as you would wear "an Iowa State sweatshirt and cutoffs to play volleyball at the beach".

Totally irrelevant but hey, it's July and there's nothing else to talk about. Anybody else know of ISU references in t.v. or movies (there was a whole thread on the mystery science 3000 scene)?

Ok. Don't judge me. On One Tree Hill, they played the state championship basketball game at NC State's arena. But, when they cut back from the action on the floor, it was actually Hilton during a game.

Also, on Diff'rent Strokes, Arnold and Willis had an Iowa State banner up on the wall in their bedroom. Too bad they both ended up with serious issues in real life...

My sister was watching One Tree Hill today and i was watching a bit, for the basketball and noticed this as well. My mom and sister said I was crazy so I went online to do some research. Sure enough, there it was, at least twice.

Two spots I saw it were at 14:38 and at 24:40

Really kinda funny that its in there since they show the NC State floor other times, just not in a whole arena setting

I just searched to see if it had been mentioned before...didn't want to start a new thread about an old topic...you know its a keen idea to add to thread instead of making 50 new ones about the same topic (see: coaching search)

I'm glad you did- I missed this thread back in July, so I hadn't seen any of this stuff. Very interesting!
