I didn't realize that ISU is no longer offering on-campus summer basketball camps. Those were the highlight of my summer many years growing up. It was fun to be able to stay in the dorms, eat at the dining halls, and be coached by ISU players that you knew. We didn't see much of Larry (I remember if you had Iowa or KU clothes on, he'd single you out in front of everyone and make you go change), but the rest of the staff and roster were very involved.

You are a young person! I have those same memories but with Johnny Orr and Jim Halihan! The players would hang with us too. Loved it. I was always sore with blisters by the end of the week.

Keep going. My memories of basketball camp was Maury John & Ken Trickey (still have the t-shirt packed away some place). Stayed in Friley, with sessions and games in Beyer and State Gyms. Great times!

So is Keshon Gilbert (or at least playing with OB in this video here):

Haven’t seen him there yet but I don’t play that much due to kids activities. The drake guys show up a fair amount also. You also see some other non-power conf college players get in too.

I went to alot of Creighton's summer camps, those were a blast. DeVries ran them but Altman would be around. Shooting hoops with Korver was a highlight of my youth.

I went to Iowa's camp as well. Alford wasn't much of a coach for Iowa, but his talks and shooting displays at their camp were incredible. It was a disorganized camp with no real skill development, but you got to play a lot of games. The coaches were much better/more involved at ISU.

When and where in Ankeny do they play?

Can anyone go and watch them?

I’m not sure those videos are during the adult open gym but the adult open gyms cost $5 to get in and are from 7-9 every Wednesday and Sunday evening at the prairie trail field house. Not going to guarantee that players are there but I was there Sunday and I’m the past have seen Omaha there and have gotten in games myself with the drake guys.

OK...so who remembers basketball camps with Gary Thompson and hanging at the Armory?
The Bill Strannigan or Glen Anderson camps! Anybody?

(I had to look those up, ha)
