I’d like to call it a rivalry. Iowa will be the biggie, but it’d be nice to have a secondary rival, especially if the two teams can build programs that can stay or improve in the level they’re at now.

I drive back to Iowa for Christmas and I like driving through Nebraska. It’s better than Kansas. You’re near the river for parts of it in Nebraska which is nice.
Unless you take 20 through northern Nebby. You wouldn't want to break down out there on a cold night without phone signal and no town for 20 miles.

ps

BTW guess who's going to Hawaii, Island of Kauai on the company's dime, AND I get paid to be there for 5 days in the dead of winter? If you guessed this guy you're correct. I almost asked you to watch my dog but my cousin bailed me out! @Doc

I dread the KC to Topeka drive let alone to Manhattan. Wasteland is correct. I honestly can stand Nebraska better than NE Colorado when you break off around ogalala. Not even gas stations.
You should try Cheyenne to Casper... Yeesh. I've heard from most of the guys in my business (mucho travelo, viajar if you thought I didn't know the word) that the drive from Houston to Lubbock is death and Houton to El Paso is divorce.

Nice! I’m sure you deserve it. And if your cousin doesn’t want to, I wouldn’t mind dog watching. I may have a lot more freedom come 2020, and may get a pup of own.

You do know that Bill's wife and in-laws are from Iowa and Iowa State grads right? I voted yes.

Well no wonder bill snyder got Pi**ed off when he couldnt get the Iowa State Head Coaching position...and the rest is history as they say...Possibly the worst decision in the history of ISU football.....Way to go Max Urick you friggin' Dummy!

There are degrees of rivals. For ISU, Iowa is as much of a rival as a team can have, like Kansas-Mizzou and Wisconsin-Minnesota. Then you can have rivals that are still rivals but aren't quite the same - Iowa State vs. K-State, or Kansas vs. K-State, or Wisconsin vs. Iowa.

Kansas and Mizzou have been Bood rivals since the Johnny Rebs from Mizzou burnt down the town of you guessed it...Lawrence, KS. I went to a KU at Mizzou (1980) football game with a Jayhawk friend of mine who wore a Kansas Jacket to the game...Ist thing happens he almost gets into a fight with a Mizzou fan in the parking lot. KU finally scores a touchdown to make it MU 42-KU 6...then KU's kicker misses the extra point.....

Then we get into his car and he wants me to find the ISU @ Okie St score, because he just knows the the Cowboys have won...Final Score ISU 23-Okie State 21 ....My response: pull over at the next Caseys so I can buy a beer and celebrate MY er ISU's Win!!

The KSU / ISU football game is in the top ten of continuous major college football games played. Whatever KSU or ISU fan's opinion is is irrelevant. The all time series record and major college football history says we're rivals. Region and institutional profile solidifies the relationship. It could be hot, cold, amicable, hateful, exciting, boring...doesn't matter. It's a rivalry game. Any series in America as old as ours is a rivalry game.
