Is it possible? Could Kansas be forced to forfeit games due to the Cliff Alexander illegal payment fiasco?
It's being discussed(fretted over) by my KU friends and on their board(as in hundreds of posts).
What a mess, hope it doesn't stain the conference.

Sure...in two years.

They won't be stripped of any wins until their string of Big 12 Conference Champions ends.

Or I could see the NCAA saying this was an individual issue and KU won't be punished.

Wouldn't be decided until games have been played for a long time. Even then I'm not sure the NCAA would go to that extreme.

Only possibility of that happening would be if they could prove that KU/Self knew about the situation before taking action.

Regardless of outcome, doesn't surprise me. I feel bad for the kid, once again the parents/boosters/sharks take advantage of anb18 year old. At least that's how it looks, maybe Cliff is dirty too. We might never know, the Alexanders, KU and Self are all layered up to the max.
Great season for them, lousy way to end it.

Self will wink his way out of it.

The better question is, "Why do you have KU friends?!"

C'mon man.

That's lawyered up, although layered up my be appropriate too.
Self is no rookie, he knows how to shovel dirt on dirt.

NCAA would put our balls in a vice grip for less.

Look up Lucca Staiger (I know, I know, but the case still is a good example) vs Cam Newton and about every other star player scandal at a power football program. It's like their entire goal is to be as inconsistent as possible toward programs you know they favor.

I still can't see how there can be any difference between McKay and Thomas from OU this season, in fact it seems like if somebody was eligible all season it should have been McKay.

Oh I assumed that they self imposed the removal of their women's coach to account for this?

It all depends on what is found. If they find out that everyone knew what was going on from the beginning, it could get ugly, even for a blueblood like KU. Normally I am as cynical as anyone about the NCAAs wildly varied application of rules, but they did come down pretty hard of Cuse and their coach. It will be interesting to see how this all works out.

I'm not holding my breath regarding penalties. Too close to the dance and the networks need KU to shine.
It'll next buried even If there's smoke.

It seems like bball in general gets a harder hammer than football. I still think it's official NCAA policy that you can pay a QB a quarter of a million dollars as long as dad takes the cash and "doesn't tell" son about it.

The same nothing will happen that will happen at North Carolina. The NC deal was institutionalized and still nothing. They only do a Cam Newton thing once every 10 years after the fact to look like they don't cater to the powers.

Self would coach a nationally televised game without his toupee before he'd admit to a dirty program.

Pretty hard on cuse? 9 game suspension and 12 scholarships for 10 years of cheating? If it takes 10 years to get that punish!ent, then this'll be something like their mascot can't come out for the first half of their next game.

Didn't they vacate a whole bunch of wins?
